STS9 To Release peaceblaster In July

STS9
1320 Records and STS9 are excited to announce that the band's much anticipated fourth studio album, their first in over three years, is rapidly nearing completion and on schedule for a July 2008 worldwide release which will coincide with their 2008 Summer Tour.

Aptly titled peaceblaster, the new album will feature a vast majority of never before heard tracks that artfully mirror the intensity of STS9's live shows while preserving the intricacy critics and fans touted with the acclaimed 2005 release of Artifact. Stay tuned for more details as we approach the release of peaceblaster.

Artifact is still one of my most played CD's. Let's hope Peaceblaster builds upon that. If it's anything like what they have played recently, I'd be thrilled.

Come back to COLUMBUS this summer!

(Can't wait till summercamp!)

Thanks....oh well I guess I'll pay extra to see one of my favorite bands and then dip....i am a little leary of the overall scene that will ensue as well....if they do tour with umph I believe they will probably play some bigger venues.....and man from experience those umph kids bring too much hype for me liking.....thoughts, opinions?

my wife and i were JUST discussing last night that we have no bands that WE follow anymore that provide "that space" to simply dance and lose yourself in...........we lost the dead, phish and cheese....and then we thought of soundtribe and we both smiled and went to the computer to see and tour dates.....there were only like 4 or 5 listed at the time......now this comes out and totally makes my day........woo-hooo!!!!!

.

.

(and i know that for some of YOU bands like umph and disco do it for you, no diss intended, they just don't do it for me and NEVER tour near enough flagstaff for us to really get to know them)

Stop Giving Thing11 thumbs down, it only encourages him/her,(to be polite), so ignore, and they will go away.

larrydurango's comments about the umph kids brining too much hype I can kind of agree with but like only kind of. I live near Chicago so I catch Umph whenever they're around and I definately love me some Umph. There's some of the most talented musicians I have ever seen play music. Jake Cinninger and Kris Meyer are both f'n ridiculous at their instruments...nuff said. the rest of the band ain't too shabby either. Anyway, I saw umph for new year's '06 and at the show where North Mississippi All_Satrs opened for them, Luthur and Cody Dickinson, Chris Chew all throwing it down with some great open-ended classic rock jams and this kid to the right of me actually shouts "bring on Umphrey's!" or something like that which is not only disrespectful to ANY band, it's downright ignorant if he can't hear what great musicianship there is going on in North Mississippi All-Stars. And like, there's less of a cultural\ spiritual thing going on with the standard Umph crowd to some degree in comparison to the Dead or Cheese but in terms of the band themselves they're just amazing and most of their fans I would say don't reflect the spirit of a few rotten apples who can't see the forest for the trees in terms of good music. Most Umphreaks I've met know what's up. So I think the Umph hype thing is overall a little overplayed, I mean...sometimes it does seem like they get hyped a lot but is it really hype when they're as ridiculously sick nasty talented blowing shit up shooting bombs out of their instruments as they are? Like to each his own and there's no accounting for taste but I personally think every ounce of attention payed to Umphrey's McGee is justified.

That being said, same with Soundtribe and a shared STS9 Umphrey's bill would be an ocean of a wet dream for me.

Siked to hear what the new STS9 sounds like.

I've been waiting for this for two and a half years. The first time I heard STS9 was on my way to Bonnaroo '05. I must have listened to Artifact on repeat the whole way to Tennessee. There will be some massive hits on this new album. They have been getting better and better and this album will be sure to live up to the potential. Finally!!!!

I think Tribe has progressively gotten worse since the release of Artifact. Recently it seems like they're not even trying. I hope this new album proves me wrong. Peaceblaster is a really gay name!

im interested in the new album, i hope they incorporate a lot of new sounds.

Looks like Umphreys is trying to go a little more electronic are they not? This is good news to me, as i dig the electronic scene (zilla, eoto, all the filthy breaks and the ones filthier than those) and think the jam scene gets a little vanilla. But im probably in the minority on that one, as i think most people dont like it when their fave bands start going electronic...i.e string cheese and zilla.

title is totally gay...Side note, as far a electronica, do we not all agree that nothing beats sega/NES soundtracks ie...streets of rage 2 and donkey kong 2...SOR2 done by YUZO KOSHIRO and DK2 done by David Wise

That would be terrible if they toured with UM. STS9 is way above them. UM is like teenie bopper music. Their fans are obnoxious too. I think that UM is identical to OAR and if anybody reading this likes OAR then you are a lost cause. New studio album though, that is going to be great!

Maybe someone who knows them will read these posts and let them know how fruity the name peaceblaster is for an album.

I used to like sts9 from 2001-2004 but i think their jams are getting to hip hoppy without enough peaks. I still like going to their shows but from what i have heard from the newer stuff kinda bores me.
