WTF.. these tour dates logistically make little sense, there is alot of travel between festivals without hitting any of the local major cities.. like from Rothbury to Allgood, they dont hit detroit, cleveland, pittsburgh.. and then only hitting up two New York shows between allgood and 10klf? come on, i guess Phil just cant handle the load of touring, but that being said youd think hed choose less traveling?

I really wanted to see Phil this summer because of how good he and his friends are right now but no Northwest love. Maybe he will bless the northwest with his presence in the Fall, Please!

I can't believe people are still into seeing GD cover bands....especially when Phil is the singer. The music was amazing, and I love the GD, I just can't believe none of these guys want to do anything new. Doesn't it get old? I'm all about continuing the legacy of the GD, but wouldn't it be nice if the remaining musicians were still providing us with the new and revolutionary jams they were once known for instead of giving us our 10 millionth "Playin'" jam?

Still trying to figure why bass buddy badass Phil never comes to Seattle. Damn. I know dude was in Portland a while back, but where's the love? Phil and Bobby tours are always thick with dates in areas with lots of colleges. Makes sense to me, but c'mon Phil the Thrill come to my town. thanks 4 lettn me vent y'all.

It hurts to say it....but....I agree with danalog. Went to 50+ Dead shows and they are the holy grail of the jam scene to me, but I don't understand why there is no new energy surronding the scene. No matter how many times he changes players, it is, as was so aptly said above, just another Playin Jam. Phil is one of the most talented bass players of all time...say something new!!!!!! I'll get off the soap box...the Warfield will be a good time. Safe boogie!!!!!!!!!!!!PHil me up.

Anyone want to give a little more info on this "Saturday In The Park" thing in Sioux City? I checked out the website and it looks like it could be a cool little event. That said, I'm kind of curious as to what kind of set time we'd be looking at (single set, I'm assuming) and wouldn't mind knowing a little more about the venue, etc., before I think about pulling the trigger on a road trip from Denver during a holiday weekend. Thanks in advance to anyone who could post more or shoot me a message!

Let me start by saying that I've always enjoyed seeing Phil and Phriends, and I wouldn't be the person I am today without the 40 Grateful Dead shows I was lucky enough to see. That said, can this train REALLY keep going??? I am a Sirius subscriber (LOVE IT!) and I cringe whenever I hear Phil trying to sing Scarlet Begonias FOTD, or ANY Jerry song (same for Bobby.) It makes me take a long hard look at the value of the shows I saw (I've seen Phil at least 15 times as well.) Sure I was having fun at the time, but was THAT what I was REALLY hearing?? The truth is that I haven't seen Phil latest friends, but if they don't include Trey, Page, Herring, Warren, or even Kimock what's the point. When Phil did a 3 show run at the Filmore in Denver 1999 with Paul Barrere and Billy Payne of Little Feat I think that those might have been some of the greatest shows I ever saw. Anyone who does not own a copy of WAITING FOR COLUMBUS should have their head examined! Now I know there are alot of noobs out there who never got to see the GD and for that I'm TRULY sorry, but you can't turn back time. You're better off going to a Dark Star Orchestra show and simply closing your eyes. Then there are the diehards who would call me a blasphemer for suggesting that Phil hangs it up. Phil is THE MAN (now that Jerry is gone) and he should do what he likes. How about creating something new?? And those who are whining for another DEAD reunion, does anybody have to hear Mickey sing Self Defense, Down the Road, Fire on the Mountain, or ANYTHING AT ALL?!?!?!

It just makes me sad to think that Jerry has been dead for nearly 13 years *sob* and this is what we are left with. Fractured memories and splintered bands each trying to keep a fledgling movement alive. Here's a question for you to ponder...When was the last time you got an excellent Garlic Grilled Cheese after a show??? "Yeah those days are gone forever, we should just let 'em go"

Also I am scared shitless over what the Phish "reunion" tour will sound like. I saw them 100+ times and DO NOT want to see Trey with a teleprompter scrolling the lyrics to Esther, or fumbling through Glide (Coventry was a butchering I won't soon forget!)

I guess what I'm saying is that it is too risky to fuck with so many GREAT memories if what you are getting is a tired rendition of the original vision. Peace to all and if you're ever in Austin I'll see you at the best show in town that night, like Tea Leaf Green and moe. at Stubb's tomorrow night!!!!!

I am sick of these festival dates!!!! I want to see this in a nice theater!!!! Not some hot ass festival with 3000 people in my way, yapping and rubbing their sweat on me when they walk by.. :P
