I don't think I will be able to afford this, but the Into the Wild soundtrack was amazing, as well as the flick.

Wow, right on. NYC on a Tues/Wed, Boston on Monday, but Hartford gets the weekend gig. Right on to that, no traveling for me this time around. I'll make the Hartford date. Peace.

the "into the wild" soundtrack was amazing, i agree. say what you will about these guys, but you will be hard pressed to find a group that cares more about putting out quality music for the long haul than them. i saw them once and was blown away, they are amazing.

Not an SCI fan and a Wilco semi-fan. Michael Savage shouldn't be posting anything on this site. he's 5% positive, 95% negative. zzzz was to the fact that in some of their 2-3 night stands, they'll play a good chunk of the same songs. I checked out their recent 3 night release and it didn't look too enticing. I agree that they consistently put out music to appease to their fans but after a while every release sounds the same to me. Just my opinion and i don't want to knock other's tastes.

This is kinda off topic, but has anyone had the chance to listen to the new Black Keys album? It's a large departure from their sound but is quite interesting.

JOHNNY CASH....JOHNNY CASH YOU DON'T SMOKE HASH.....JOHNNY CASH DON'T SMOKE HASH AND HE'S LYING ON THE TRACKS!

that may not be the best song lyrically by sci but it's a damn good one.

You crazy if you think pj is better band then sci, don't get me wrong i think pj makes some good music and i dont like vedders lyrics in alot of their songs, BUT C'MON SCI will lay down the funkyer groove and will put on a better show alltogether.

Pearl Jam are one of those bands that have complete endurance. I am trying to follow the thread of logic that compares SCI to Pearl Jam with absolutely no results; The two bands are not even in the same genre of music.

Not only have Pearl Jam been a part of the music scene for almost twenty years, they helped define a movement of music (along with Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, etc.), progress through that sound, and continue to make relevant albums under their own control. Throughout their history, they've kept their brotherhood intact, and let's not forget that they were the first band to release every soundboard show from their tours to their fans; a concept that was pretty foreign at the time and is now fairly standard.

Pearl Jam's lyrics are genius, SCI lyrics... somewhat honkey and feel-good, but hey, that's what they're about... with the exception of Sirens, I don't really think there are many SCI songs that deal with complex or serious matters. I mean, they sing about tripping on mushrooms, feelin' good, and jellyfish... which isn't bad... it's just not socially significant. And now, just to be an asshole and rip someone... SCIGR84EVS... Ten? Vitalogy? 3rd grade level? You're a moron 4evs. Dummy.

First and foremost, the only person on here that understands the situation at hand is dirtyleg. These two bands are no way in the same category. I have seen cheese and they're fun but they are a jam band. Phish and MMW are two of my favorite groups of all time, and they hold the jam scene. But these two bands shouldn't even be compared bc Phish has rock and roll flowing thru its veins where MMW is jazz based. Now that being said, PJ is by far one of the best rock bands of all time and shanky95 is completely right, SCIGR84EVS you're a moron if you think Vedder's lyrics suck. Plain wrong. The man also has a stage presence like none other. Let me see you write something half as emotional as Black. (I know it's a trendy song, but that's beside the fact) This man is by far a phenomenal lyricist and this Pearl Jam show at CORAL SKY (cruzan-west palm) is gonna be the best thing this venue has seen in years. They own it every time they're here, and I know they will again in June. So cheers to all of you bashers out there. Music has many different avenues and you need to appreciate them all before you start making uneducated remarks about LEGENDS in the industry. Skrew the Roo.

ok SCIRGR84EVS here you go...

PEARL JAM LYRICS

"Indifference"

i will light the match this mornin', so i won't be alone

watch as she lies silent, for soon light will be gone

i will stand arms outstretched, pretend i'm free to roam

i will make my way, through, one more day in hell...

i will hold the candle till it burns up my arm

i'll keep takin' punches until their will grows tired

i will stare the sun down until my eyes go blind

hey i won't change direction, and i won't change my mind

i'll swallow poison, until i grow immune

i will scream my lungs out till it fills this room

how much difference does it make...

get a clue. Passion is the conductor of this mans words, unlike the negativity guiding yours.

Enjoy your perception. It must be lonely. Oh wait I forgot, there's plenty of Cheese heads, and I ain't talking about Wisconsin. :P

It's getting really old how every discussion turns into arguments about comparing two bands. SCI and Pearl Jam are on two completely different wavelengths. People need to realize that everyone is not going to like every band. I can easily understand why people would like Pearl Jam even though I not a fan, and c'mon their newest was really bad. I also had a few friends of mine (big PJ fans) attend Lollapalooza last year, and come home really disappointed. Cheese does have some deep songs too though Shanky; "wake up", "close your eyes", "eye know why", and "looking glass", just off the top of my head. You were right though they do have a lot of hokey ass bluegrass, and fun party songs too.

I would love to see a PJ show, but every show at the Excel is $50+. Pearl Jam did introduce the Soundboard recordings to the scene, and they're fight against Ticketbastard proves there jam band roots. Making music for the people more accessible. Fight the power!! PS there is no way you will here the same song at Bonneroo that would be wack.

I think some of y'all need to drop the damn djembes, step away from the drum circle and actually listen to more than a 20 minute song noodlefest from time to time. I won't even get into the PJ vs. SCI thing...some of y'all should package the dumb you spew and sell it in the lots with your hetty crystals because it's truly unique and one of a kind.

Blah. I'll stick to the Black Keys. The comparison between PJ and SCI came up when someone said I probly love SCI because I was knocking PJ. No one actually compared the music, just my tastes. Seeing as how I like neither of these bands, the comparisons should end immediately.

Speaking of MMW, the Wood Brothers are badass. Their album comes out in a week.

Definitely going to the Tampa show, Kings of Leon opener will be badass. You cheese loving dbags need to find some headier blogs to post on and stop wasting my time with rants about how SCI is better than every band in the world. Guess what, cheese sucked when they were touring, and they aren't even together anymore. So until this All Star Wook colab Keller Williams Incident comes out stop bringing these honky tonk old hippies into every post involving something that sounds nothing like bluegrassy folk jam.

Indifferance is my personal favorite of Pearl Jam, check out PJ at the Garden 03 doing it with Ben Harper......chilling. I remember a Relix issue that made a comparison with GD and PJ, quite interesting how similar the 2 bands were. oh yeah....if keller ever does join w/sci, that quite possibly be better than the orignal. PEace.

I wish Pearl Jam trotted out some old home town faves like Mudhoney, Tad Melvins or a reunited Screaming Trees as openers. Seattle grunge reins over Haight Asbury relics for me myself & I. Pearl Jam meet the litmus test for a jam band as they routinely take off on a song with Eddie throwing in ab libs or creating melodies on the fly. It has been awhile since I have seen PJ but I am stoked to see this tour with Kings of Leon serving up the icing on the cake.
