if that is indeed martin fiero, it should be noted he was also featured on wake of the flood and played a 73 show with the dead. in response to clifton: i heard that kimock and phil split under bad terms in the 99 phil run (i think that was the tour). kimock left mid-tour for reasons unknown and that fact that the two havn't played together since leads me to believe that some aspect of the rumor is true. that tour was siiick tho. trey and kimock together did some craziness.

I wanna know what kimock was singing. When the hell is kimock band coming back preferably with mitch stein and Aplphonso Johnson. They are like the only all instrumental band that isnt jamtronica (unless the play sabertooth) or straight jazz that I even know of

I was thinking that the picture might be of Steve and his son 15 years or so ago. I don't know. I guess it would make sense if it were Martin.

RE: josh92482 Off the top of my head I remember Steve Singing on You Are With Me, Evangeline, Dead Flowers, No Woman No Cry and possibly 1 or 2 more. It was indeed the most I've EVER seen him sing. While I can give or take on the Billy Goodman material, you could plainly see the history and sense of kinship between Steve and Billy. Great shows over all. BTW WE LOVE YOU MEESTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You had to be at Thursday's show to understand why there are so few words.

Kimock and friends played through like the professionals they are.

The pic of Martin was beautiful. A beautiful man with his child.

RIP Martin.

I can believe Kimock and Phil may not get along anymore, I guess..

I know he gets along fine with Micky Hart, so I got to see that at langerado.

does David Gans have something against Phil and friends??? he never plays their stuff on the dead hour, only ratdog.. why?? anyone know??

I had to be hard for Steve. That is defiantly MEEEESTER in the pic. Much love to MF's family. "I was born a long way from where I am supposed to be and I am just trying to get there" - Bob Dylan

Kimock had a falling out w/ Phil over money and the way he was to be paid. In an email from '99 he sent out he referred to it as "I ain't gonna work on Maggie's farm no more." As far as SKB goes we may not see any for some time. He's enjoying himself right now an experimenting w/ different folks. Damn shame. Mitch was great but the shit w/ Walter and Mathis was HOT! Rodney still rules but Steve and Melvin Seals go real well together.

Kimock sang back up on Dead Flowers in that pic. The photo on stage is of Martin Fierro and his son Juan, taken by the great photographer Jim Marshall in the early 70's.

Thanks for the clarification that was Martin Fierro's Altar, nice pix as usual Susan, 3.13 & 3.14 were the best shows IMHO, and I know how hard it was for them to go on 3.13, since Martin passed at 3:00pm surrounded by friends and family. Those were two very strong and meaningful SK&Fs shows for sure. (((RIP Meester)))
