Anybody help me out? I've heard a couple of shows w/ Jackie Green in them, but wasn't too excited about it. For those of you who have seen him w/ Phil live, what's it like? I always thought Jimmy Herring was perfect in there.

PLEASE! I'm not trying to start a "Green sucks and so and so is better," type of thing! Just wondering what some of y'all think.

I have seen Phil and Friends with Jackie Greene when he played in New York at the Nokia in Times Square. It was amazing. Jackie brings the heat and has great stage presence. He gives the music a new touch, and they also play some of his own stuff as well. Its like seeing a new band, not like seeing the dead. Its a great show.

A David Nelson and Donna sit in with PLF would be cool or vice versa Phil or Donna with NRPS. Phils latest band is on fire. And as far as DT & ST if you are going expecting the typical dTb set of songs, then this isn't gonna be it, unless they change it up from the past shows.

Langardo show was hot last night. Mardis Gras was a rocker. This band is on fire right now. They are getting tighter and tighter. For me by far the best Phil and Friends lineup. Nobody sounds like Jerry and I like that these guys don't even try to. Its defenitely their own sound. A Phil said last night Larry is "the master". That Unbroken Chain had some excellent playing. Bring on the Warfield!!!!!!!!!!

OF course Warren

Take the time to check out the Ryan Montbleau Band if you make it to the Vibes this year.....A bunch of us who went last year felt his opening set on the Saturday was the best set of the day, Ratdog included (admittedly we didn't catch all of every act that day). Gone to see them a few times since, and they really have a great sound & energy, every guy in the band is on top of his instrument. A small band out of Boston with (I hope) a big future.

PS ~ PHIL IS THE MAN.

Also, GOTV always seems to add most of the big bands way later. Last year, P-Funk, Keller, Claypool, TLG, Mickey Hart Band, RRE, and most of the big bads didn't get added to really late. This lineup still has a lot coming.

i dont know everyone...for me phil and the friends were tight as hell and phil looked truely happy again when i was watching that langerado set. i feel like the phil and friends summer thing they got going is the shit and they are going to rock our socks off...also, vibes is all about the dead for those who dont know that (dead overkill)..and with the runors on philzone if he does a NE tour with the allmans and DT already being at vibes maybe they will bring back the allmans too??? one can hope right? dickey is in the area around that time and he kicked ass last year. i dont think this is even close to all the bands they will have. peeps will be disappointed once they know the final lineup and they didnt prepare for the vibes. one more thing...Seaside is the shit and Phil and these friends are AMAZING.. PS---> VIBES- PLEASE give us a late night set, preferably STS9...AND ADD PGROOVE!!

the lineup now is EXCELLENT. Jackie Greene is sooo lucky to be age 26 and get this kind of experience from a veteran like Phil. Jackie is bringing some new youthful fire to Phil also!!

Also, you can never have too much DEAD MUSIC, headlining or otherwise, NEVER ENOUGH!!!!

Phil is gonna be the Shiz, but this has been Bobby's place for a while and i hope they decide to do a east coast reunion, bring em all back and then no one loses. DBB is def. Headline material, and they're lead singer Jen Durkin (en?) is a BPT native, not so sure bout the Claypool, P-Funk, definately Yonder, wailers for sunday, dirty dozen, keep em comin all of em deserve to be there. PBS, DSO, Donna, Sam Bush, awe I can't wait, i used to live round the BPT area, and lookin forward to travelin north to see old fams...and Great Tunes,I do agree though, It will get hotter..Hippies don't complain, thay dance through the rain...

Jackie Green really brings some energy to Phil's band. Steve Molitz looks much more comfortable then last year on the keyboards. They were great last week at Langerado! Perhaps not as strong as phils bands at Mountain jam last year with Schofield and Haynes but we knew that was a special gig. Phil will rock the Vibes this year!

jackie green is a dylan wannabe...looks like him, dresses like him, sings his songs....sheesh the electrophil wasn't anywhere as sick as bisco brings it... funny ppl diss disco who invented technojam yet if phil plays a watered down version they love it...don't get me wrong i like new phil and friends playing dead songs with a twist, put it really doesnt take you there.... it's good but not amazing... the cumberland was the best tune of the night because they kept it real and actually that was a hot hot version with the fiddle...
