THE WATSON TWINS SIGN TO VANGUARD RECORDS
RELEASE FULL-LENGTH DEBUT IN JUNE

The Twins
On June 24th, The Watson Twins will release their debut full-length album, Fire Songs on legendary Vanguard Records, which has been home to Doc Watson, Levon Helm, Mindy Smith, John Fahey and Joan Baez, amongst many others.

Identical twins Chandra and Leigh Watson are veterans of the contemporary folk rock scene in Los Angles, and may be familiar to listeners through their excellent 2006 collaboration with Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis, Rabbit Fur Coat. The Kentucky-born duo count folk, gospel, blues and country as early influences. Fire Songs was produced by Russell Pollard and J. Soda (members from various incarnations of Sebadoh, Earlimart, Everest and Folk Implosion) and follows the Watson Twins' 2006 self-released and critically acclaimed Southern Manners EP.

"Our influences as singers and songwriters are the historic sounds of Vanguard Records, a label steeped in Folk, Country, Jazz and Blues. It just seemed like the perfect fit and we are so honored to be working with them on our debut full length," said The Watson Twins.
