2nd Annual The Day Celebration

The Fare Thee Well Foundation is proud to announce the lineup for their second annual The Day Celebration, a two-day music festival that will be held May 9-10, 2008 near the town of Buckhead, GA. Proceeds from the event will benefit four Georgia-based charities.

Performers include Col. Bruce & The Quark Alliance, Dubconscious, Blueground Undergrass, The Lee Boys, the Ralph Roddenberry Band, Donna Hopkins Band, Deep Blue Sun, The Squirrelheads and more. Bands participating in the event are already planning special late night jams in addition to their regular sets.

The site of the festival will be the 80-acre Triple B Farm, in Buckhead, GA, located 70 miles east of Atlanta. The foundation has made arrangements for a safe, family-friendly festival experience, complete with secure parking, a family camping area, Kids Zone, general and RV camping, 24 hour security, and a fenced infield with food and beverage vendors. The foundation will limit ticket sales to promote a relaxed, intimate setting for both the artists and audience, similar to the seminal events from the 60’s and 70’s.

Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the following charities: Brain Tumor Foundation for Children, Inc., an Atlanta-based organization funding medical research and support for families of children with brain tumors; Georgia Coalition to End Homelessness, Inc., which funds solutions to the issues surrounding homelessness in Georgia; The Georgia Wildlife Federation, an affiliate of the National Wildlife Federation, which funds efforts to protect Georgia’s wildlife, land, water and air resources; and the Humane Society of Morgan County, a volunteer driven organization dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals through adoption programs, reduced fee spay/neutering and community education.

Advance weekend passes are now on sale at a special discount, which includes parking, camping (three nights to include Thursday, May 8th) and live music for the entire weekend. Tickets are available HERE.

The Fare Thee Well Foundation, Inc. is a Georgia-based non-profit corporation, whose mission is to fuse their pride for the regional community with their love of the arts. They are dedicated to promoting a clean environment, battling local hunger and homelessness, and to providing medical care for one of the most devastating childhood diseases afflicting our communities.

Everyone should go see The Lee Boys if they get a chance. Seen them twice this last year and would love to go again. They are an amazing live band!

Hippyjessica- I guess you didn't go to the Echo Festival. Doesn't that count as something in GA?
