Leftover will tear this place apart. The LoS show in Boulder on 12/29 was without a doubt the show of the year last year, and Telluride will be no different.

Other than Ryan Adams, this looks like one of the best TBGF lineups in years. Don't miss Yonder late night either, it's usaually as their best performance of the year.

They do have something like this on the east coast, its called Delfest. Although the lineup is not a good as this it is pretty stellar for the first year of the festival

How tough are the logistics on this one? I saw camping cost $45 extra per person. Coming from PA, tougher than traveling for any other fest?

That line-up is of mind blowing quality, something to tell the grandkids about!!!

I've been to TBF twice. 2004 Del McCoury set and 2006 Sharon Jones were killer. It's a great wide-open festival. The scenery is so spectacular you never have to look at the bands. The great aspect of it not being close to Denver, is it doesn't get overrun with day-trippers. 6 hour drive! You gotta earn it! I love RA&Cardinal albums, but live he's hit or miss, I hope it's a hit.

This lineup is stellar- and Ryan Adams only adds to it. Hell, a guy who can write a song like "A Kiss Before I Go,' which might as well be an authentic Hank Williams tune, deserves some respect, even if he has proven to be a bit of a flake. And the rest--man, what truly great musicianship on display here. If I was not going to be in St. John then, I would be here for sure.

For those of you that do not know, Ryan Adams is SOBER now. His shows over the last year have been just unreal. He will show up and when he does he will be the best thing this festival has seen in quite some time. I hope yall are open enough to go instead of just hating for the hell of it. RA and The Cardinals are one of the best, tightest live bands going right now...see for yourself.

Hey guys a member of the Planet Bluegrass family here...glad you are stoked about the lineup. I'm stoked about the lineup too! It looks EPIC.

A couple that we are excited about that haven't been mentioned:

The Frames' Telluride set will be the only set ANYWHERE this incredible Irish band is scheduled to play, so far, in '08.

Paolo Nutini's Telluride set is one of two shows in the world.

Hopefully we'll see some of you in June.

dtx: Good looks on Delfest. Just checked it out, that is an impressive first-year lineup. The McCoury family is just a fantastic bluegrass institution. Anyone else interested:

KPLMMJ, you are a crazy person if you think Ryan Adams will be "the best thing this festival has seen in some time." I mean really. I realize you like him and you're getting all defensive as people rail on him, but now you're being unreasonable. He is a blip on the radar at this festy compared to Skaggs, Hornsby, Bush, Douglas, Leftover and Yonder. I'm not saying he's bad, but he will not even be close to the best thing that Telluride sees this year, let alone in some time!

You're right, what you're posting now is not unreasonable. The line about RA being the best thing Telluride has seen in some time was very unreasonable. This festy has been going on for 34 years and you bleieve that it has just been warming up for RA!? Hilarious! And while you're dissing on other bands that will be there, and Leftover will KILL, imo RA is the weakest link on the bill and I would never pay to watch him perform. He will be the dinner break. He's like Heavy Things at a Phish show. Bathroom!

I've seen RA 2 times also, so I do have a bit of perspective. I went with open ears and left with him leaving no impact.

snappy - i love that show! it's still a regular in my rotation. ryan adams and the cardinals are an amazing band, the songs are beautiful and original and the musicianship is top notch. so many great songs: cold roses, magnolia mountain, peaceful valley, blue hotel, a kiss before i go, easy plateau, let it ride, dear john, mockingbird, please do not let me go, dear chicago, games, arkham asylum...the list goes on. i am a huge bluegrass fan and this lineup is chock full of legendary acts, so i will agree that RA is not "the best thing the fest has seen in awhile", after all it is a BLUEGRASS festival. that being said, i would encourage all that attend to stick around for ryan adams, you will not be disappointed. it's not bluegrass but it fits in well in this setting as a crossover act.

Leftover Salmon paved the way for JAMGRASS or as they liked to call it... Polyethnic Cajun Slamgrass. Their return to the music scene is one of the greatest things that could happen to the JAM community. Long Live LOS and the Spirit of Mark Vann!!!!!!! FEEEEEEEESSSSSSSTIIIIIIIIIVAAAAAAAALLLLLL

WOW!I Dont know when I have seen a lineup for this event that i liked better than this one. as jambase warms up to the mainstream dollar here IN THE 'POST-JAM' era ~ the folks at Planet Bluegrass seem to have become friendly to the jam buck. FUCK BONNEROO! if you like jambands, festi vibes& dont know alot about the bluegrass& progressive bluegrass acts on this bill YOU GOTTA MAKE THIS ONE! load up your VW buss & grab your ipods, kids. make the haul to this one~ FEESSSSSTTTTTIIVVVAALLLL!

The festival is built around the many artists that have defined the Telluride Bluegrass sound. The weekend is sprinkled with inspired sets from Peter Rowan, John Cowan, Sam Bush Band, Béla Fleck. Del McCoury returns to Telluride to celebrate his 50th year in the music industry. Yonder Mountain String Band celebrates their 11th year; Leftover Salmon celebrates their 20th year as a band - a band that formed in the Town Park campground jams of Telluride Bluegrass.
