Bloodkin and Backyard Tire Fire Tour the Southern Corridor in Spring 2008
Veteran rock & roll outlaws Bloodkin take to the road with the progressive roots sounds of Backyard Tire Fire for a week of dates in early Spring 2008. As both bands have called Athens, GA home during their histories, it's a fitting collaboration for these musicians to be working together.

The shows promise to be an experience at the crossroads where stripped down rock & roll bands meet some of the most unique lyrical voices on the scene today.
Bloodkin's 20-year history has been a roller coaster of the good, the bad, and the ugly. But through it all, their music remains a genuine article of southern gothic narrative wrapped in the cloak of powerful and raw guitar-driven rock & roll. With eight albums of material to their credit, Bloodkin is an undeniably important part of the contemporary southern musical landscape. Bloodkin will go on from these shows to continue through the Deep South winding up at SXSW in Austin.

"Just like when we do a Robert Johnson cover or a Talking Heads cover, we want to pay tribute to someone... These guys [Bloodkin] happen to be young and alive and just as prolific and just as important as our other influences." -WSP frontman John Bell in Billboard Magazine
Backyard Tire Fire, who emerge from a fertile Midwest music scene that's introduced America to some of its greatest new rock bands over the last decade, fully embrace the best characteristics of their generation's genre-bending, influence-melding approach to creating music. BTF will continue from these shows to participate in this year's Langerado Festival.

"What matters is good music, and on that point Backyard Tire Fire delivers big time. What they also deliver is a sound that is firmly rooted in the rich history of American music." -Chris Holmes at Blogcritic.com
