ASHEVILLE MUSIC JAMBOREE ANNOUNCES ARTIST ADDITIONS

The Asheville Music Jamboree (AMJAM) announces additional artists for the 2008 edition of the annual southern celebration of music, art, nature, friendship, and family. Abigail Washburn & The Sparrow Quartet featuring Bela Fleck; Larry Keel and McMurray Farms; Ralph Roddenbery; and Thunderdrums join the already impressive line-up which to date includes: Gov't Mule, Keller & The Keels, reggae icon Burning Spear, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, The Lee Boys, Jason Isbell, James McMurtry, RAQ, Jamie McLean Band, the Afromotive, The Barrel House Mamas, Laura Reed and Deep Pocket, Josh Phillips Folk Festival, Kellin Watson and the New Familiars.
Asheville Music Jamboree is happy to return to Deerfields on Memorial Day Weekend for its second annual celebration of music, art, nature, friendship, and family. The festival will play host to national headlining acts as well as a variety of western North Carolina's most talented musical acts.
In addition the over 30 musical acts on 2 stages, AMJam will entertain its guests through an array of activities such as workshops, drum circles, parades, swimming, charity, outdoor contests, campground performances, a craft village, and fine dining (festival style of course!). As usual, the Asheville Music Jamboree welcomes children and families with open arms, and will provide a number of family friendly activities such as a Kid's Parade and the Children's Universe activity center.
On top of a magnificent lineup and a myriad of activities for children and adults alike, the Asheville Music Jamboree includes camping throughout the festival's 3 day duration. Deerfield's Amphitheater, located 20 minutes south of Asheville in the Mills River Community, is a 940-acre family-owned tract of unspoiled wilderness offering camping, swimming, and hiking. Tent camping will be plentiful, with a secluded family campground set aside. Car camping and RV passes are also available at an additional cost. This is a limited capacity event, and only 3,000 tickets will be sold to this year's Asheville Music Jamboree. Tickets are $140 in advance or $160 at the gate. Kids 13 and under are free, and Teens 13-16 are half price.

The 2nd Annual Asheville Music Jamboree [AmJam] will proudly return to Deerfields this coming Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-25, 2008. With a lineup ranging from National touring heavy-hitters, Gov't Mule to Grammy Award Winning roots reggae pioneer, Burning Spear and down to some of the southeast's top regional talent, AmJam 2008 is a premier festival, masked behind multi-day, corporate events this upcoming summer.

Set to take place May 23-25 at Deerfields, AMJam is excited to announce the initial lineup for the annual three-day outdoor camping music festival in Western North Carolina. This year's event will feature Asheville's favorite son, Warren Haynes and Gov't Mule!

Advance Tickets go on sale Wednesday, February 13 at 10 a.m. Early Bird Tickets start at $125 for the weekend and are limited in number. Once Early Bird Tickets are gone, Advance Tickets increase to $140, there is a limited number of these as well. Gate prices, if available, will be $160. Only 2,500 tickets will be initially made available for this event! They are sure to go fast, so get your tickets early.
