Freaks Ball VIII: 2/9 in Brooklyn

Freaks Ball VIII :: 02.09 :: Southpaw :: Brooklyn, NY
Featuring: Bustle In Your Hedgerow, Mocean Worker, American Babies

Bustle In Your Hedgerow
Get ready for Freaks Ball Ocho a.k.a. the 8th annual NYC-Freaks Ball this Saturday, February 9 at Southpaw in Brooklyn, NY.

Maybe you heard that old man Zeppelin got back together for a gig across the Atlantic and tried to bring it back like old times... sorry to say they can't rock their own stuff the way Bustle In Your Hedgerow is going to rock your keister at the Ball. Marco Benevento, Dave Dreiwitz, Scott Metzger and Sir Joe Russo will be bringing you the ultimate Zep experience. It's been a while since we've seen these guys melt Freak face, so bring your A-game.

Mocean Worker, Mowo, Adam Dorn, whatever you want to call him, this newcomer to the Freak scene creates compelling music that has appeared in everything from "The Bourne Supremacy" to a current Honda ad. He'll be balancing out the hard rock of Bustle with a funky five-piece live band that includes a horn section.

Opening up the party will be some tasty country-rock songsmithing from Tom Hamilton and his American Babies, with brother Jim Hamilton, and Freak faves Joe Russo and Scott Metzger backing up. Get there early.

"Zeppelin got back together for a gig across the Atlantic and tried to bring it back like old times... sorry to say they can't rock their own stuff the way Bustle In Your Hedgerow is going to rock"... umm excuse me? were you watching the same zep reunion as everybody else??? bustle is a good COVERband, but common, zeplin rocked it like they were in their prime, relax guy no need to go overboard to sell the show, ive seen bustle and their ok, but no where near the energy i felt in london, people still buzzing about it, GO GIANTS

no question about it. bigandtall's right. bustle has energy, youth, and most importantly, musicians in their prime WANTING to play together. no media stunt, no reunion, no worldwide B.S. just very very good musicians playing very good music. and mimiluiv, no, zeppelin did not play like they were in their prime. go watch any of the dvds and compare. please.

Tired old farts my ass. Show me a man that would rather see this COVER band over the real Zep and I'll show you a man who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.

You guys need a serious sarcasm censor. In all seriousness, though, Bustle kicks some serious ass. These guys are in their prime and push the music to another place. Sure, it's a cover band, but it's their "for fun" cover band. When they play as Bustle they are just having a great kick-ass time and it shows. Mocean and the Babies are great too.

I don't care how they'd compare to the real thing. I'd love to see Bustle In Your Hedgerow!

Scott Metzger is perhaps one of the most underrated guitarists around right now. infact of all these musicians rock but scott stands out...seriously, if you're not familiar check out RANA.

"ilikephish" i dont need to watch any DVDs i was at the show in london and yes they did play like they were in their prime, it was one of the top 3 shows ive attended in my life and ive been to many. the energy in the building was enough to drownD you and the sound was insane. im not asying bustle iSNt good, which they are, but its not even in the same solar system as the orginal LED ZEPPELIN, so i think "pimpmcgeorge" said it best when he said "Show me a man that would rather see this COVER band over the real Zep and I'll show you a man who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground." unfortantly thats you "ilikephish". and ive been to at least 50 phish shows and i woulda traded all of them for that london show SORRY

$10 and under, cool. $25 is WAY too steep for me to attend. Throw someone else good one there, maybe I would consider....

good luck trying to put on a 3 band show in nyc for under $10 and actually paying the band members in a currency other than pbr.
