The creators of the landmark Entertainment! (1979) and Solid Gold (1980) – albums that provided the blueprints for The Rapture, Franz Ferdinand, Radio 4, Liars and many others today – will return later this year with their first album of new material since 1995's Shrinkwrapped. Original members Jon King (vocals), Andy Gill (guitar and vocals) and Dave Allen (bass) began recording in Istanbul last November and will continue work this spring with an eye towards a June release. The currently untitled release will follow 2005's Return The Gift, which featured new versions of older songs. Anyone lucky enough to catch the Gang of Four in concert the past few years knows time has done little to diminish their startling musical power.
