I got my 2 tix. Happy Happy Joy Joy! First time seeing bobby, phil & mickey together since 2004 northeast run (Mass, NY & CT) of The Dead. Phil Lesh & friends show 11/27/07 at the Warfield rocked better than any show on the 2007 tour by far! Mardi gra was fun but not as good. Jackie's B-3 playing very similar to Jeff Chimenti (Ratdog) was a pleasant suprise.

Ron Paul is a true Republican, not like the ones that have been in office the past 20 years. The word Republican has such a negative connotation these days, and I can see why. When everyone thinks Republican, they usually think of religious nuts and hicks. Anyway, Ron Paul would end our empirical influence in the Middle East and would place US matters ahead of foreign matters, the way it should be. If you lived in Iraq, would you want an outside government (the US) telling you how to run your government? We would object strongly to such an occurance, so why should we be doing the same? Also, our national sovereignty needs to be the paramount concern nowadays with the changing economy and the loss of jobs to other countries. I like where Ron Paul stands on foreign policy issues and drug laws, where he may be the best of the pack, however, we seem to conveniently ignore his irrational religious beliefs. I don't trust any candidate who rejects established scientific reality without presenting adequate empirical evidence to support his assertions as a leader.

Independently of how good you think Ron Paul, or Dennis Kucinich, or Mike Gravel are, they no longer stand a chance in the election. It seems that we should shift our support to the best candidate with hope of winning (Obama!), but let our obscure political messiahs keep informing the debate, and hopefully changing the overall zeitgeist.

Responding to "stoops" comment. He was looking for proof. Well, its easier than you think. Go on youtube and search cheney cfr, then watch the speach he gives. Then search clinton cfr and watch the speech she gives. just-joshin', I knnow how you feel. Well like you said the first thing we all need to do is stop giving people crap for expresing thier opinions. One exercise you can try is, when someone starts talking politics, war, healthcare, president, and they say something that you dont like, say something. This takes time to really know how to do. You actually have to read things and pay attention. There are things out there that can help you get a grasp on this stuff fast, the infowars website, documentaries like "freedome to fascism", "loose change", "money as debt", "endgame". Alot of the stuff your going to see in these movies will sound bananas. So you should always follow up. For example, in loose change there is a scientist who goes on to explain the issues with the official 911 story. Youll see his case is pretty convincing. But dont take his word on it. Look him up on wikipedia. Make sure that guy who says that stuff really knows what hes talking about. I have watched those docs and many others and i have found that 99% of the stuff checks out 100%. And there are other things you can do too. You have to vote! Now ill be the first person to kick and scream about election fraud. It happends, its documented(go on youtube and search bev harris and youll know that it is documented) but if we dont get a larger segment of the population to vote they will always be able to cover up the fraud because citizens that dont vote provide cover for the media when the exit polls are off by over 20%. But honestly the most important work everyone needs to do is at the dinner table. I know you might think this is insignificant but you have to do it. The most important social unit you will ever be involved with is your family. Sorry for the folks who have broken homes. Its not your fault. So since the family is the most powerful social unit you should think of your family as a vehicle for your values. So if your family is dislocated and uninformed your driving a mo-ped. But if you can educate your family to the point where they all understand this stuff you will be driving a Peterbilt 18wheel dump truck. First column, agree with your position on the issue, second column disagrees with you on the issue, column 3 is where you put thier public record to the test. For example, line one issue - war in IRAQ. Column 1 - agrees we need to end the war. so check column 1. move to column 3 and check thier record.(are they a congressman(most candidates are) did they vote yes to war? did they vote to fund the war? after the war went bad did they tell the truth about thier support for the war? do they continue to fund the war with new bills in congress?) I did this kind of analasis with ron paul and here is what i came up with. Ron paul did not vote for the war, he has never voted to fund the war, he continues to criticize those who voted for the war and the funding thereof, he promises to withdraw all troops from foriegn soil. And here is the most important conclusion of the analisys, In the 20+ years ron paul has been a congressman he has never voted to raise taxes, he has never voted to take part in a war, he has proposed bills to audit the federal reserve, he has proposed the abolition of the unconstituitional income tax on a number if occassions, and he has stood up to the most rabbid character assasinations from the mainstream media and mainstream candidates and he still wins his congressional seat and he still stands fast in his voting in the congress and has not waivered on his stance on the issues. But dont believe me check him out. Well go to his site and you wont find anythign that would indicate this. Yes paul has stated he does not support roe v wade, and if it were his decision he would never have supported abortion. Hes a OBGYN, he delivers babies for a living, obviously hes not going to support abortion. But ask yourself, is this single issue important enough to disregard a candidate? Dont ally yourself with a single issue. Take a stand on all the issues and tally up the score. Who supports most of your positions? Is keeping abortion legal as important as stopping the wars that are destroying our countries economy and murdering millions of iraqis? So in this context, the more freedom and liberty people have, the safer a society is. They knew that if people were free from all but the most obvious forms of restriction(no murder, stealing, ect), over time human nature in its purest form would express itself. Now lets get back to weapons of mass destruction. It is documented fact that saddam got his weapons from the US. You can watch the meeting of don rumsfeld and saddam husein on youtube from the late 70's or early 80's not sure when exactly but it was around then. They were given to him specifically to use against the iranians who were at war with iraq. When the war ended the kurds wanted a independant country and saddam procedded to gas the kurds. So the US knew he had them in the early 90's because we gave them to him. So the UN went in and destroyed them all. We knew they were all gone. Yet, cheney and his administration continued to claim WMD. So here we are in 2008, 4000 americans dead, 1.5million iraqis dead, mostly children, 500billion$ dollars down the drain, a country in debt to communist china, in a serios recession that in a couple weeks will become a serious depression. So yes, cheney, CFR member stands guilty of treason. Nothing less than the destruction of the greatest economy on earth. great show last night, fun crowd and interesting set. Really liked how Phil, Mickey and Bobby all had speeches for Obama, Phil's was even typed out and at least 10 pages long! They really believe in this guy, which is something to see from the Dead. Show was rockin' especially 1st and 3rd set. Barry Sless was MVP, great playing on the pedal steel.

Hope the guys can bury the hachet for a summer tour or at least a vitory show for Obama in the fall!

I agree with Del on pretty much everything else but i can take solace in the fact, which H.B. mentioned, that the true freedom is within our minds and no matter what government entity I am a part of I can always (without the forced consumption of mind-altering chemical substances, which may not be as far off as we like to hope) think for myself and see the beauty in life, if not the beauty in government systems.

What a show! I was on the floor in front of a bank of speakers next to Bobby for the entire final set. During that last set there were big smiles on everybody's face that i could see including famous deadhead to my right Bill Walton! Some of my highlights were, Mark Karan and Jackie Greene trading licks on a few occasions, Jackie really belts out an epic Sugaree doesn't he, Mickey IKO, Bobby's Throwing Stones, US Blues, Mark Karan leads and Bobby, Phil & Mickey seemed to be really enjoying themselves. They really shared the music well with that many skilled players. This line-up could certainly out due 2002-2004 versions of the Dead based on last night performance. A night to be remember!

Been to see all of the incarnations of my favorite band/religion of the 80s, and very early 90s. Must say once again, I MISS THE FAT MAN. Phriends shows are certainly more spacy than Booby and the Midnites version iv, but it depends on the phriends. John Sco yes, other ones so, so. I won't bitch. Had the chance too many times to remember, "that must have been heaven," and I was there with my sisters and brothers.
