and as ussual. Just like most bands do, they disregard boston. I just dont understand it. I go to all the good shows around here and they are always packed. Yet for some reasons the good bands dont seem to want to play to us? Where ny, chi, LA and phili get 3 or 4 shows a years from alot of these guys, boston gets 1 if they are luckey. But it just doesnt make sense, the shows around here are always at least 90% full. And the club shows for bands like um, bisco and the like are always sold out with lines half a mile long at showtime... So what going on? Is it too cold? When you spit hot fire, like panic certainly does, the cold should not be a concern... Show us some love. ps, i feel really bad for the people who dont get any shows, shit, imagine living in north dakota... all they get is clearchanel aka new world order radio...

i dont give a god damn if this has nothing to do with the article!!! why the hell is jambase allowing thier advertisement space to be filled with blake lewis. To all you slaves out there who give people shit for criticizing what jambase covers i have one thing to say. This is your fault. How do you feel about a boyband peice of trash like this guy all over your favorite website? Keep whining about critical comments in the forums and youll all be doing the macarena to the backstreet boys who will be headlining the next bonnaroo... You stupid sheep slaves. Do not criticize this post unless you state whether or not you like blake lewis. If you like him, then go fuck yourself, if you dont like him then join me in criticizing jambase. First it was a huge writup about jayz which was completely inappropriate, now this sellout scumbag piece of crap all over the website.

shmo-kinn.. not sure if you got it, but that was a fairly obvious joke.. i never 'bitch' on jambase threads, just trying to make fun of those who do.. so many people whine about how jambase is changing directions and not covering jambands enough, when they probably cover more jam stuff than ever, along with some non-jam.

kcreb got it.

I have never posted a comment on Jambase, even though I have been a site-user for four years or so now. However, I felt compelled to comment about the Blake Lewis ad. That shit sucks. I not only encourage, but I APPLAUD Jambase for their coverage of all good music, jam-related or not. What the world calls "jambands" are not enough to satisfy my musical appetite. (It's such a muddied label, anyhow, with everything from funk to bluegrass being labeled "jam".) So, Jambase, please continue to cover and support GOOD music. But a Blake Lewis ad really throws a blow at both the credibility and respectability of the site. Don't insult your users by supporting music like that...we know better, and so do you.

I've seen a Panic show in Boston twice in 2001, twice in 2003 and one more again in 2005. Also seen in Boston one or more times; Gov't Mule, Galactic, Denson, Other Ones, The Dead, moe. and Project Logic. Come down and live in southwest Virginia and feel the neglet we get! It sucks!

delayneyira - i understand your anger, and i respect most, if not all, of your views. i, too, am positively miffed and rather pissed as to why jambase would advertise for that blake tool.

but the fact is that you can't hate the people who have made this site what it is today - people who put their money, sweat and hard work into making it as kick-ass as it is. you can't hate them, especially, for trying to ACTUALLY make a little bit of money from it, god forbid. how long do you think making this site has taken out of these people's pockets? i'm sure that now, if anything, they're probably breaking even. possibly making some meager earnings.

but are you really going to blame them for that, the people who built this shit from the ground up? if you are, and you hate it so much, then don't come back here. i appreciate what you're trying to do, i really do. i'm the biggest anti-sheep, the most anti-new world order. but this website isn't ushering in this new realm of new world order ignorance and complicity. if anything they're doing their best to reverse it, by promoting the most magical art of them all - live fuckin' music. if anything can turn someone on to thinking differently in 0.5 seconds, it's a live show.

now 99% of the people who frequent jambase are going to see blake lewis' preppy, pink and diamond clad face and say: "wow that guy must make some shitty music, i'll remember his name so i never listen to it," get a chuckle and check the newswire for posts like this WIDESPREAD PANIC update here.

now channel your rage and put it into something useful, like campaigning for ron paul.

I am not sure how the whole money thing goes when you buy tickets through a bands website but that is what I prefer to do as opposed to buying directly from Live Nation or ticketmaster. Live Nation is listed first in the about JamBase section list of promoters they work with. Live Nation is Clear Channel and Clear Channel has ruined everything they come in contact with. Their terrestrial radio stations are run by robots that play what they are told to play. Their big sheds (unavoidable in the case of Panic... two nights in Raleigh... wooooooo hooooo)rape us if we choose to enjoy a beer at the show and make us pay 5 bucks per ticket for parking even though most of us don't drive alone to the show. We regularly spend 20 bucks per show for parking. I understand that this website is a business and Live Nation helps pay the bills but I for one would like to see it go back to what it used to be. I have said it before and I will say it again... If I want to know where Dolly Parton and Megadeath are playing from the same website I can go to pollstar.com.

Happy Trails!!!

I think Panic tours heavily in the south for the sole reason that they are from the south. Most of their tours venture away from the south but you always have to know where you come from and who supported you the most in the early years...

I wonder about the choice to play US Bank in Cinci on a Wednesday. I have a feeling it will be *ahem* an easy ticket.

It's worth mentioning that Jambase doesn't support their advertisers, it's the other way around.

If you don't like the parties that advertise here, don't click on their links, and they'll eventually re-think their ad placement. If you're right, and this is really NOT the place for that type of music, their statistics will show that, and they'll stop advertising here.

If the sheer existence of certain ads on this site is that offensive, you could always buy the ad space yourself. Then you could put whatever you want there.

Not sayin its the sole reason but they def get a lot more flow playin a place like Walnut Creek(which sucks but we have argued about that in the past) compaired to the Warner in D.C.! Just seems like a lot of other bands will go out west and stay out west and used those other 10 or so dourdates in which panic is comin back south with to promote there music in places that don't get to see them every 4 months!

hoodoo-

i've done a lot of research into ron paul, including all the smear sites, before i made my decision to support him. i'm very concerned with politics, and don't take these choices lightly. sure, there are some things i don't like about him. but not many. he's not involved with shadowy elite organizations like cfr, bilderberg, wto or carlyle group which push for world government. he's the only true anti-war candidate on either side. even all the lead democrats are waving their sabres at iran, and voted for the war and patriot act.

also, federal agencies tend to do the exact opposite of what their monikers would indicate - the epa sells land to mining and logging corps, fema is building prison camps across the u.s., dept of defense starts preemptive war, dept of ed. makes learning impossible.. it's because everything is so federalized that our country is so fucked. there's no accountability - it's just one big orgy of lobbyists, corp. interests and crooked congressman in d.c.

he's also against the drug war, which totally disproves the 'equality' talking point. and he would be great for the working class - he'd get rid of private 'tax' COMPANIES like the irs that have no real gov't. he wouldn't get rid of taxes or social programs, but the irs is straight illegal. you have to remember that a congress and a senate would have to vote on laws he passes. and he would restore their right to do so.

and obviously i don't like george w. he's a fascist; ron paul is a libertarian. they're almost complete opposites. sorry for the long post guys, i don't enjoy being insulted. now who else am i gonna have to set straight on this thread?

Why does everybody cry so damn much about this site and who they should and should not cover? Then cry that Panic plays too many shows in the south and not enough any where else. If you don't like the articles or the artist there covering then don't read them. I don't even know who this Blake guy is but i'm not going to waist my time crying about the fact that Jambase is advertising him. If you think it's up to you to decide who should and should not be on this site and who is and isn't considered JAM then start your own damn site and stay off this one. I don't like everything they cover so i don't read every article and review. As far as the write up on Jay-Z being inappropriate was it inappropriate for Phish to envite him on stage at MSG? It's all a matter of opinion and if all you can do is cry and bitch then you should find another site to do it on.

Cincy for me, I would prefer them play the Taft, but US Bank (AKA)Riverfront Colieseum), that's what it's still to me, is fine. Saw the Dead play there in 89, and I saw Phish tear the roof off the play in 98,99, and 2003.
