OUR WEEKLY VIDEO SEGMENT
GOES DOWN SOUTH JUKIN'
With all eyes on South Carolina and Florida over the next few days, we thought we'd turn the camera towards wild-eyed Southern boys (and girls) for a soundtrack to the tumultuous 2008 Presidential Primary race. Get yourself an ass pocket of whiskey and settle in…
-The Outlaws fade into "Green Grass and High Tides" in 1977. Don't miss the guitar solo rich Part Two of this epic performance.
-The Marshall Tucker Band ask "Can't You See" in 1973. Dig that crazy flute!
-Black Oak Arkansas get "Hot And Nasty" for your pleasure.
-The Ozark Mountain Daredevils introduce us to "Jackie Blue". Go singin' drummer man!
-Lynyrd Skynyrd extol the "virtues" of "Workin' For MCA". Pity Ronnie's headband never got on with the kids.
-The Drive-By Truckers take a leap off "Lookout Mountain". Patterson Hood had an extra spoonful of bile before this performance.
-Drivin' n' Cryin' slap around "Fly Me Courageous" on Letterman in 1991. Paul Schaffer and the band hold their own against a young Kevn Kinney.
-And lastly, a double shot of The Black Crowes. The first part is a freaky TV show appearance from 1994 and the second half is the band playing "Wiser Time" at the 1995 Glastonbury Festival.
Don't forget, you can eyeball video sweetness 24/7 with JamBase TV and JamBase Backstage.
