I just grabbed the new album today and gave it a good cranking on the stereo. It's certainly different from any moe. album to date. I like it more than I ever liked the Conch as a whole, so far-- there's a nice flow to it, the performances are rock solid all around, and the production is crisp, without using too many studio gimmicks. It makes up for what it lacks in wild soloing and quirky songcraft with smooth harmonies, solid group cohesiveness, and an emotional depth and sincerity-- at least that's my take. It'll be interesting to see how these new tunes work out and grow in the live environment.

Bring on 1/27 in Minneapolis!

the new album is the most relaxing one they have released yet.

Its mis-leading really, compared to what you get at a show.

was able to see them in denver last night for the cd release. they played most of the new album and some things off wormwood and the conch. i think the best song on the new album is Zed not Z, it has great potential to be a huge jam vehicle. i also really like cathedral. i have only listened to it twice but i definately like it, nice change of pace.

Yes, Al played that crazy blue and silver tele almost the whole night. He absolutely ripped the solo on "The Road." I thought it wouldn't end as the octaves soared upwards and upwards. It was a fantastic show. Plane Crash was indeed the highlight. Nice pics.

Al is playing a glittery hollow bodied tele with a bigsby, and chuck is still ripping a PRS custom(i think)

Chuck plays a really nice, handmade guitar by McInturff guitars. I have played one before and they're very thick yet comfortable. A lot of people mistake his guitar for a PRS but it is actually much nicer than current PRSes.

The "Triumph" is a motorcycle. Don't think Rob's sporting a t-shirt from the Canadian rock band....fight the good fight Bridget.

I was at this show and moe was on fire. the punchline was killer, the second set was riddiculous! californiA yodelittle, plane crash and road encore were so tight.I was right in front of chuck, and him and rob kept laughing at me cause I was straight groovin. They are my favorites and even though I live in Tahoe...im going to moedown. Ive missed the last two and thats two too many.
