Wow, Chris DeAngelis is one of the most amazing unknown bassists out there. His shows with Turkey Bouillon Mafia blew me away! This will be sick.

I saw these guys at moe. down a few years back and WOW! I swore I'd catch 'em when they came to Philly. Adding DeAngelis makes me need to get to the Troc!

I'm a long-time Breakfast fan, but I've never heard of this Chris DeAngelis cat. Initial commentary seems to be optimistic and positive from you guys who know about him. Was he in a band prior to this? What's his vibe like?

Every once in a while something truly special unfolds in the least likely place. On this cool, breezy night in nowhere new york, on the first of three music pilgrimages from my home in Seattle, WA to the NorthEast, I was smashed in the face by a hot up-start band. Fresh with his new lineup, lead guitarist Tim Palmieri of The Breakfast tore into a setlist that concluded with a blazing recantation of Arrested Developments Cult of Personality. So much has already preceded the Breakfast in terms of accolade that it is hard for me expect more than another band on the rise who will ultimately fail to meet that expectation. However, at least on this night, an outdoor crowd of 1300 hippies, hipsters and festivalias witessed what true joy of performance looks, feels and sounds like. While lead guitarist Tim Palmieri is guilty, from time to time, of overplayed to the willing crowd it is a misdemeanor crime in the midst of his bands felonious assaut on the crowd. As I stand in the darkness of this crowd listening to this band, I see a group who has the potential to cross-over and bring this unique genre of music to a more mainstream audience. During the second set, a broken drum allowed for a little uncomfortable interplay between guitarist Tim Palmieri and Keyboardist Matt Oestreicher that I thought would end with a kiss and embrace (not that there is anything wrong with that). What Tim and Matt seemed to lack in manly rock-and-roll coolness was more than shoved right back in my face by their insanely complicated and flawlessly executed compositions. The sheer technical ability of these musicians should enable them to create anything they can imagine. This is a band to watch as they expand geography and exposure.
