Not two months after the release of its most celebrated edition to date (the specially priced Jam Cruise 5 double DVD) JamCam Chronicles returns with a just-in-time for the holidays, must-have, southern-fried stocking stuffer, in the form of JamCam Episode 14: Wanee 2007.

As rock-blues legends The Allman Brothers Band wowed more than 10,000 guests over two consecutive nights, and invited both family (Devon Allman's Honeytribe, Vaylor Trucks' Bonobos Convergence) and friends (The Radiators, Keller Williams, and more) to do the same, the JamCam crew captured it all, for a nearly three-hour look at this 3rd annual celebration of blues, roots and jam. Appropriately book-ending the disc are sizzling versions of the ABB's "Who to Believe" (never before on DVD) and "Desdemona," both showcasing Gregg Allman's strong-as-ever trademark vocals and scorching guitar work courtesy axe-master Warren Haynes and slide phenom Derek Trucks. Haynes' own bluesy growl is featured here as well, leading the DVD's centerpiece "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl" (also never-before on DVD) into a three guitar swamp.

Other musical highlights include a pair of full-length, Louisiana-red-hot numbers from New Orleans' own Radiators, a family-style helping of the jazz-come-blues-come-funk sounds of ABB extended family member Oteil (and the Peacemakers) Burbridge, and even an appearance by jam-scene stalwarts Rusted Root, updating their classic “Send Me On My Way."

An in-depth look at the Allman-inspired Hittin the Note Magazine, interviews with ABB offspring (Devon of Gregg/Vaylor of Butch) and a Spirit of The Suwannee River-full of festival "sites and sounds" round out this latest offering from the JamCam catalog.

Get your copy of the 2007 Wanee DVD at a $3.00 discount until December 16 from the JamCam website or by calling toll-free (877) JamCam1.

Sounds great. I have every JamCam DVD, Tom always does a great job. But this one would be a lot better with some Govt. Mule and Derek Trucks Band w/Susan Tedeschi. I guess they wanted too many $$. Suwannee is a great venue also, especially the woods stage.

The JamCam DVDs just get better and better - Tom and his crew are creating an awesome documentary of music performances that need to be recognized and seen by the world!

Thanks for all the nice comments, folks...you have no idea how greatly each and every one of you are appreciated.

Curious, though, "Brad&Steve," what you might mean by "this thing should have been out like four months ago" since we had always promised "fall" so have kept our promise. Feel free to give me a ring (877-JamCam1) if you'd like to discuss. THANKS AGAIN, ALL!!!

I just received my "Wanee 2007" DVD, and I could hardly contain myself as I ripped open the packaging and thrust it into the DVD player, only to be let down by the many missing artists that were left off of the DVD. I was happy to see the Allmans, Oteil, Keller, Rusted Root, and interviews with the folks from Hittin the Note, but what about Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Nickel Creek, Backyard Tire Fire, Gov't Mule, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeski, not to mention interviews with the those names? I'm sorely disappointed that my so long awaited DVD failed to do justice to such an amazing festival.

Hey, coastal, sorry you're so unhappy, but from day one, we did everything in our power to make abundantly clear which acts were/weren't going to be included on the DVD. At Wanee, a list of the bands that had signed on was displayed for everyone to see on more than one large posterboard, and that same list was/still is posted on the JamCam website. It seems you may have pre-ordered assuming that we have the power to just shoot/put on whomever we'd like, but I'm afraid it doesn't work that way. For example, from your list above...

Robert Randolph - Declined to participate

Nickel Creek - Declined to participate

Backyard Tire Fire - Declined to participate

Gov't. Mule - Declined to participate

Derek Trucks/Susan Tedeschi - Record label contracts prevent participation

Again, sorry to disappoint, but some things I'm afraid are beyond our control, and we did do our damndest to let folks know.

Feel free to send 'er back if you'd like to be refunded.

First of all, I would like to thank you for acknowledging my complaint. Secondly, I would like to commend you on a job well done. The DVD the JamCam crew put together is a good one, and I want to keep it. However, unfortunately for me, I did not know the other artists had declined to be on the DVD. I failed to notice the posted list of artists that declined to participate, and that is my fault. I do believe that if the other artists had participated, the DVD would have been even more of a success. Lastly, I just want to say thank you for putting out the DVD. I believe y'all did the best you could with what you had to work with.

Thank YOU, coastal, and just know, that more than anybody, it's I that would like to have had each and every act take part...in a perfect world, right? Anyway, thanks for understanding, and for setting the record straight.
