Happy Birthday Jeff Tweedy | Wilco At Sydney Opera House

Today marks Wilco front man Jeff Tweedy's 47th birthday. The Belleville, IL native formed Uncle Tupelo in the late '80s with high school friend Jay Farrar and drummer Mike Heidorn. Just as the group was achieving commercial and critical success, Tweedy left Uncle Tupelo in 1994 to form Wilco. Wilco has gone on to release eight studio albums and a handful of Mermaid Avenue compilations with Billy Bragg featuring previously-unheard lyrics by Woody Guthrie. While Wilco has been off of the road in 2014, Jeff has focused on a new band called "Tweedy," which finds his son Spencer behind the kit.

We want to celebrate Jeff's birthday by re-sharing professionally-shot video of one of our favorite Wilco shows of all-time. On April 3, 2013 Tweedy and Wilco laid down an amazing performance at the iconic Sydney Opera House in Australia. The band rolled through material from each of their studio albums with the exception of Wilco (The Album) as well as other choice selections. Wilco's Sydney show was streamed live, leaving us with this exceptional pro-shot video to watch:
