Neil Young & Crazy Horse Cancel Show In Israel

Neil Young & Crazy Horse were set to make their Israeli debut on Thursday night in Tel Aviv, however the show at Hayarkon Park has been canceled due to security concerns. “It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we must cancel our one and only Israeli concert due to tensions which have rendered the event unsafe at this time. We’ll miss the opportunity to play for our fans and look forward to playing in Israel and Palestine in peace,” reads a statement from Young's label, Warner Brothers.

Young was supposed to go on with the show, despite protests from the likes of Roger Waters, who penned a letter to Neil urging him not to book the show earlier this year. “I will be making donations to both the Louise Tillie Alpert Youth Music Centre of Israel, and Heartbeat, two organizations that teach music to Palestinian and Israeli youth simultaneously by enabling them to play music together,” Neil Young said in the statement from Warners. A police spokesman told Reuters the show was canceled "in order not to put people in Gaza rocket range at unnecessary risk," according to Variety.
