You can December 30th at the 8X10 in Baltimore to the NYE Run list. Hackensaw Boys are opening/co-billed. I'm looking forward to seeing what Reed brings to the table though Ben will be missed.

trini.

The opening band? Hummm? Bummer. I still had my fingers crossed for a kick ass bay area NYE. Time to bring it back.

This is the strangest announcement I have ever seen.

The Klein Memorial is a weird little venue in a residential ghetto in Bridgeport. Barely 4 blocks from what was once the most dangerous gun carrying thug controlled housing projects ever. (Father Panic Village. It was profiled on 60 MINUTES).

What TLG is doing playing there NYE is beyond me........

Looks like both The Wailers and Jimmie's Chicken Shack are closing. I agree with King Rhino. The Wailers play is strange enough and then add TLG opening for a 90's frat band in Jimmie's Chicken Shack and you have completely confused me. Hate to say it but TLG has jumped the shark and I can not help to think Ben saw it coming...

I think after this show/debacle Tea Leaf Green will have to change their name to Knife Wound Red.

Tea Leaf Green is beyond fine.

They are NOT opening up for Jimmie's Chicken Shack, other way around.

And regarding NYE, the Wailers are legends, and I'm sure it was a last minute booking considering they had to replace 25% of their band. They just always want to give their fans something.

Two nights at the Filmore in February...they'll be back on top of their game real quick and melting faces at a venue near you in 2008...you can count on that!

Bridgeport is not as shitty as people think. It just still gets a bad rap from the crack epidemic/murder heydays of the 80's and 90's. If you want to rent a little one-bedroom apt. downtown your gonna pay almost a grand a month, if it was really that ghetto people wouldnt be paying that much to live here.

What's wrong with crack and murder?

I agree... dodging bullets is a great way to keep life interesting. And the crackheads are actually very friendly in Bridgeport. Many of them are Deadheads in fact.

TLG has perhaps hit a bump in the road, but I'm very pleased that they are going to persevere. These New Years gigs were pretty last minute it seems, so options must have been limited. I'd rather see them playing than not, regardless of the situation.

I'd go check out them and the Wailers, but it's too far to drive home drunk.

The combo will keep it moist on the planet of green love.

Peace

Im considering this (to the point of booking a hotel and driving 3 hours)

the venue is in fairfield which is in no way ghetto. the wailers are legends. TLG has been a good time the few times i saw them. and its OPEN BAR. Sounds pretty solid.

Not sure why people are freakin about this venue. Derek Trucks rocked that place in November. They have a free guarded parking lot and the inside looks similar to the Beacon. NYE w/ The Wailers & Tea Leaf Green AND open bar?? Quit your whining and go see a killer show!

I went to this show!

it was amazing. i was really dissapointe datt he fact that TLG opend for The wailers which meant that green was only going to play a 45 min. set. And they did.

but other than that the show was amazing.

it was open bar and i was underage, but if you hide your wrist with a coat or a long sleeve they dont question you. So my buddies got a few beers. and i left the venue and came back with my own alcohol.

RE ENTRY IS PERMITTED! i was so skecthed out about it.

and the parking lot was awsome. there were like 4 parties and the cops were out of the lot, but didnt com ein for some odd reason.

it can with out a doubt say that it was a great show and night.
