Update 6/11 11 a.m. PT: Fan-shot video of Warren Haynes guesting with Moon Taxi on
"Cabaret" has surfaced thanks to Steve Waldron:
might not have been scheduled to perform until Saturday night at Mountain Jam when Gov't Mule first
takes the stage, but that didn't stop the festival's host from making the rounds on
Friday. Haynes, who had already sat in with Umphrey's on Thursday night,
appeared with both Moon Taxi and Bob Weir & RatDog yesterday at Mountain Jam in Hunter, NY.
Haynes first hit the smaller West Stage to appear with Nashville's Moon Taxi. Warren
joined the young upstarts for the Moon Taxi original "Cabaret" and engaged in a feisty
duel with guitarist Spencer Thomson. The Allman Brothers Band/Gov't Mule guitarist then
headed to the main East Stage to guest with Weir & RatDog.
Uncle Warren emerged at the start of RatDog's second set for a jam that led into a
sizzling "Playing In The Band" > "Dark Star" sequence. Haynes returned later in the
for the "Johnny B. Goode" encore. Warren wasn't Weir & RatDog's only guest of the
singer-songwriting guitarist Jonathan Wilson came out during the first set for "West L.A.
Fadeaway" and "Don't Let Go." Earlier in the evening, Bobby sat in for three songs with The Avett Brothers. Just another
collaboration-filled Mountain Jam Festival!
