Robert Plant has
brought his Space Shifters to Morocco to perform at the Mawazine Festival and used the
event's press conference to respond to recent comments from Jimmy Page. In a New York Times interview, the Led
Zeppelin guitarist accused Plant of "playing games" regarding a potential reunion of the
legendary act. “I think he needs to go to sleep and have a good rest, and think again. We
have a great history together and like all brothers we have these moments where we don’t
speak on the same page but that’s life,” Plant said at the press conference today according to The National.
Page took umbrage to Plant telling 60 Minutes Australia that his schedule was clear in
2014 when asked about the potential for a Led Zeppelin reunion, “I was told last year that
Robert Plant said he is doing nothing in 2014, and what do the other two guys think? Well
he knows what the other guys think. Everyone would love to play more concerts for the
band. He’s just playing games, and I’m fed up with it, to be honest with you.”
Last month Plant squashed any thoughts of a reunion when he told Rolling Stone, "You're
going back to the same old shit. A tour would have been an absolute menagerie of vested
interests and the very essence of everything that's shitty about about big-time stadium
rock. We were surrounded by a circus of people that would have had our souls on the fire.
I'm not part of a jukebox!"
