Flaming Lips Sgt. Peppers Album Due In October

On October 28 the Flaming Lips will release With a Little Help From My Fwends, their take on The Beatles' legendary 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, via Warner Brothers Records. The album continues a trend of the Lips tackling complete albums by other artists such as their 2009 cover of Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon.

With a Little Help From My Fwends will be available for pre-order starting on May 18 and those purchasing the LP will receive a download of "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" featuring Miley Cyrus and Moby. The Flaming Limps will donate a portion of the album's sales to the Bella Foundation, a non-profit organization based in the band's hometown of Oklahoma City that assists low-income, elderly or terminally ill pet owners with the cost of veterinary care.

According to Future Heart, "the album is tentatively scheduled to feature MGMT, Sean Lennon, My Morning Jacket, Foxygen, Moby, Phantogram, Morgan Delt, Treasure MammaL, Stardeath and White Dwarfs, New Fumes, Birdflower, Sunbears and more."

The Flaming Lips joined Cyrus on stage in Manchester, UK last night and gave fans a little taste of "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds":
