Considering 95% of the world's Bourbon is produced in Kentucky, it's fitting that the
state's Forecastle Festival,
will be held in Louisville between July 18 - 20, features a Bourbon Lounge.
Forecastle will feature a diverse collection of Kentucky bourbon brands uniting to offer
dozens of Bourbon selections, including those from Maker's Mark, Heaven Hill, Woodford
Reserve, Michter's, Four Roses, Town Branch, Wild Turkey, Jim Beam and more.
Forecastle organizers have also announced they will give a nod to Louisville native Hunter
S. Thompson at this year's event with a new, Gonzo-inspired bourbon bar. This year's
festival will also see the debut of the Bourbon Cares program, presented by Liquor Barn, a
unique partnership between several bourbon brands and Forecastle bands, featuring special
single-barrel selections, available only in the Forecastle Bourbon Lodge. For this
program, members of Spoon will hand-select a barrel from Four Roses Bourbon, JJ Grey &
from Heaven Hill and Spanish Gold from Woodford Reserve. My Morning Jacket drummer Patrick
Hallahan, who also plays in Spanish Gold, and members of Spoon will participate in special
celebrity mixology sessions where fans can have a drink crafted from the artist-select
bourbons, prepared by members of the bands. Bourbon Cares proceeds will benefit The
Forecastle Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, focused on environmental conservation.
Membership and pricing details for the Bourbon Lounge can be found on the Forecastle website.
