El Buho "The Owl" (Gary Gazaway) was given his nickname while working
with Brazilian Jazz greats Flora Purim, Airto Moreira, Jaco Pastorious
and many others. Hugo Fattoruso and Manolo Badrena actually bestowed the name upon him. Since that time El Buho recorded and/or toured with Joe Cocker, Delbert McClinton, Steve Winwood, and Steve Ray Vaughn. El Buho also sat in with Phish on several occasions. The result of that are the infamous Buho Tapes. With all these influences, what else is there to do other than create your own genre, "Psychedelic Acid Jazz."
The Monkey Bar is located in the Historic Brady Arts District of Tulsa.
