Gregg Allman Plots Return For Wanee & April Shows

Earlier this week The Allman Brothers Band postponed the final four shows of this year's Beacon residency due to Gregg Allman's bout of bronchitis. Allman has issued a statement on his website saying he's feeling better and plans to play the April dates he has scheduled.

Here's the statement via Gregg's Facebook page:

I feel almost 100% following my bout with Bronchitis. I look forward to seeing the Allman Brothers Band fans at the Wanee Festival April 10-12, as well as I cannot wait for my first trip to Australia with my solo band to meet my down under fans.

Gregg missed the Allman Brothers Band shows last Friday and Saturday night in NYC, where a slew of guests including keyboardists Rob Barraco and Kofi Burbridge helped the remaining members of the band get through the performances. The Allman Brothers Band will headline April's Wanee Festival in Live Oak, FL. After that, Gregg heads to Australia for the first time with his solo band for performances at the Byron Bay Bluesfest and in Newtown and Melbourne.

There's still no word on when the Allman Brothers Band will play the final four shows of this year's Beacon residency.
