Opening Night | Widespread Panic Wood Tour In Richmond

Widespread Panic started their second-ever, all-acoustic Wood Tour last night at The National in Richmond, VA; where they treated fans to two sets chock full of tunes that thrive in the unplugged setting.

The band members utilized acoustic instruments with keyboardist JoJo Hermann relying heavily on a pump organ and Richmond native Dave Schools using a four-string acoustic bass. Fittingly, the band kicked off the evening with "Let's Get The Show On The Road" and showed off acoustic arrangements of such classics as "Wondering," "Pickin' Up The Pieces" and "Tall Boy" during a 61-minute first set. The second set started off with four old-school favorites in "Holden Oversoul" > "Can't Get High" and "Mercy" > "Jack." From there, the Georgia rockers treated fans to a cover of the Rolling Stones's "Time Waits For No One" and inserted "I'm Not Alone" in the middle of "Driving Song." Panic returned to the stage for a two-song encore of Neil Young's "Journey Through The Past" and and their own "Pilgrims."

Here's a look at last night's setlist:

Set One: Let's Get The Show On The Road, Wondering, From The Cradle, Who Do You Belong To?, Pickin' Up The Pieces, Weak Brain Narrow Mind, Tickle The Truth, Clinic Cynic, Expiration Day, Tall Boy

Set Two: Holden Oversoul > Can't Get High, Mercy > Jack, Time Waits for No One, Fishing, Driving Song > I'm Not Alone > Driving Song, Heaven, Stop Breaking Down Blues
