Allman Brothers Band To Headline Mountain Jam

The Allman Brothers Band have just been announced as the headliners of this year's Mountain Jam music festival, which takes place at Hunter Mountain in Hunter, NY June 5 - 8. The legendary rockers, who are celebrating their 45th anniversary in 2014, are expected to part ways following the departure of guitarists Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes at the end of the year.

The Allmans will perform a set that includes their first two albums (The Allman Brothers Band and Idlewild South) in their entirety. "we are beyond thrilled that The Allman Brothers have decided to join us for our 10th Mountain Jam Festival in their 45th and possibly final year," said Mountain Jam founder Gary Chetkof in a statement. "We really aimed to bring the best of the last 9 years back for this year's milestone and having The Allman Brothers on board feels extremely fitting. The festival takes its name from one of the Allman Brothers' most beloved songs and I don't think there will be a dry eye at the conclusion of their set." It's been five years since the Allmans last played Mountain Jam.

Robert Randolph & The Family Band, who will make their fourth appearance at the festival, lead the list of other Mountain Jam additions announced today that also includes Elijah and the Moon, Copious Jones, The Dirty GemsKJAMM and Ratboy Jr.
