Fred Armisen Tapped To Lead Late Night Band

In two weeks from today Seth Meyers takes over as host of NBC's Late Night and today he has revealed the leader of his house band - fellow Saturday Night Live alum Fred Armisen. Meyers broke the news on Twitter and added, "Fred will curate and lead the band, and continue to run it even when he's off shooting Portlandia. "

Armisen's career as a musician dates back decades as in 1988 he moved from New York to Chicago to play drums in punk act Trenchmouth. He's guested with Yo La Tengo in more recent years and has showed off his musical talents during his time on SNL.
