moe. Guitarist Al Schnier Wrote Puppy Bowl Music

While many of our readers will be watching the Super Bowl today, we're sure there are at least a few of you that have your eyes on Puppy Bowl X. If you're unfamiliar wtih the Puppy Bowl, cable network Animal Planet broadcasts 39 incredibly cute puppies running around a miniature football stadium. This year's Puppy Bowl holds a special connection to the jam scene as moe. guitarist Al Schnier wrote the fight songs and half time show music.

The starting lineup for the Puppy Bowl was posted on Animal Planet's website and we know who we're rooting for. Puppy #4, August (see photo above), is a female boxer just 12 weeks old. The fun fact listed for August reads, "Wants to follow the band moe. across the country." Watch August and the other puppies on Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl, which started at 3 p.m.

We hope August was able to see last night's moe. show at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, where the band was joined by the Conehead Buddha horns at various points throughout the show. moe. brought out the horns for originals "Akimbo," "Happy Hour Hero, "Spaz Medicine," "Plane Crash," "Nebraska" and "Not Coming Down" as well as covers of Little Feat's "Spanish Moon," The Rolling Stones's "Can't You Hear Me Knocking," Paul Simon's "Late In The Evening" and Black Sabbath's "The Wizard."
