Cover Alert | Stringdusters And String Cheese Tackle Lorde

New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde scored one of the biggest hits of 2013 with her response to current pop culture - "Royals." The song was a worldwide smash and is currently nominated for a number of Grammys including the treasured Song of the Year and Record of the Year awards. A few bands within our scene are apparently Lorde fans as we've got two versions of "Royals" that took place during New Year's Week.

On December 29 String Cheese Incident welcomed old friend Keller Williams out for their encore at the 1STBank Center in Broomfield, CO. The Keller Williams Incident worked a reggae-tinged take on "Royals" into "Breathe." Watch fan-shot footage provided by Steven Homer:

Meanwhile, the Infamous Stringdusters debuted a rootsy, bluegrass-infused "Royals" on New Year's Eve in Richmond, VA. The band shared video of the cover on their YouTube channel:
