Oteil Burbridge Remains A Member Of The Allman Brothers Band

Back on Tuesday Rolling Stone published an interview with Gregg Allman in which the Allman Brothers Band front man revealed bassist Oteil Burbridge had left the band. Apparently Gregg spoke too soon as shortly thereafter Burbridge issued a statement denying he was leaving the band. Today, a representative for the Allman Brothers Band has confirmed that Oteil Burbridge is still a member of the legendary jam act.

Gregg's interview with Rolling Stone was to announce the band's 2014 Beacon Theatre residency. As of press time, the Allman Brothers Band are expected to play 10 shows as part of their annual March Madness run at the NYC venue. The Allmans have performed at the Beacon over 220 times over the years. “It’s always good to get back on stage with the Brothers,” said Gregg Allman in a statement announcing the run. “Man, beyond the Brothers, that Beacon audience is like our family. You can look into their eyes—they’re right on top of you…there’s no other room like it.”

Tickets for the Allman Brothers Band's 2014 visit to the Beacon go on sale Friday, January 10, at 10 a.m. ET. The band has also revealed they will reissue Boston Common 8/17/71 this February in addition to the two 1992 performances we reported on last month.
