More Mash-Ups In Milwaukee For Umphrey's McGee

On Thursday night Umphrey's McGee continued a long-standing tradition by unveiling three new mash-ups on Halloween night in Milwaukee. The band also delivered a new mash-up a night on Friday and Saturday at the Riverside Theater.

On Friday night UM welcomed old friend Kevin Sinclair out on sax for "Ringo" in the first set. Set Two started with an interesting "Der Bluten Kat" sandwich which had "Final Word" and a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "I'm On Fire" as fillings. The band later busted out their cover of "Roundabout" by YES for the first time in 2013 and unveiled "The Final Teen Spirit" which mashes up Europe's "The Final Countdown" and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. For the encore, Umphrey's brought out old LD Adam Budney for a take on Snoop Dogg's "Ain't No Fun (If the Homies Can't Have None)" (last played - November 5, 2011).

Check out Friday's setlist:

Set 1: All In Time, Ringo[1] > Kimble, Sociable Jimmy > 1348[2] > Hajimemashite, The Fussy Dutchman, Partyin' Peeps

Saturday sets contained a number of song sandwiches as "Plunger" surrounded "Much Obliged," "40's Theme" included a brief foray into The Police's "The Bed's Too Big Without You" before finishing and "Mulche's Odyssey" came in the middle of "Mantis." A "Miami Virtue" performed in the second set saw guitarist Jake Cinninger play keys, while the evening's mash-up debut - "Push The Booth Deeper" - mixed UM originals "Deeper," "Push The Pig" and "Booth Love." The sextet brought the final set of the weekend to a close by busting out a cover of Metallica's "...And Justice For All," which had been shelved since October 17, 2008 (577 Shows).
