Greensky Bluegrass Performs As Railroad Earth At Hangtown

JamBase favorites Greensky Bluegrass had quite the treat in store for their Saturday evening late-night set at the Hangtown Halloween Ball this past weekend. Greensky celebrated Halloween early when they took the stage dressed as festival hosts Railroad Earth and were backed by RRE drummer Carey Harmon. "Railroad Greensky" opened with the New Jersey band's much-beloved "Long Way to Go."

Each member of Greensky honored a member of Railroad Earth as Greensky banjoist Mike Bont dressed like Andy Goessling, mandolinist Paul Hoffman did his best John Skehan, guitarist/vocalist Dave Bruzza was Todd Sheaffer, bassist Mike Devol paid tribute to Andrew Altman and Greensky’s dobro wiz Anders Beck donned the gear of Tim Carbone.

Greensky Bluegrass's set included a number of their own originals as well as bluegrass covers performed by both bands such as "Ain't No Bread In The Breadbox." The Michigan-based band will celebrate Halloween Weekend in Seattle and Portland.
