Jam titans Widespread
Panic brought their fall tour to Shryock Auditorium in Carbondale, IL last night. To
kick off their encore, Widespread Panic lit into a cover of "Wish You Were Here" by Pink
Floyd. The Georgia rockers hadn't performed the Pink Floyd classic since a June 20, 2008
show in Los Angeles.
"Wish You Were Here" was a live staple for the band in the late '80s and then disappeared
for a nine year stretch between 1988 and New Year's Eve '97. The cover saw action a good
in the next few years before it was shelved again after an October 16, 2001 performance.
has only been played seven times since 2003. Listen to last night's version thanks to
