Planet Bluegrass Aims For 2014 Return After Devastating Floods

Planet Bluegrass in Lyons, CO plays host to a number of festivals each year including RockyGrass and the Rocky Mountain Folks Fest. Unfortunately the recent flooding made Planet Bluegrass look more like a river than a music venue in videos that surfaced last week. While the damage was severe, Planet Bluegrass employees have told the Denver Post they aim to return for next year's festivals.

Planet Bluegrass employee Brian Eyster told the Post, "There's a lot of destruction...The worst thing that happened on the ranch that we know about is one of the offices floated down the river. It's totally gone." Over four feet of mud and water enveloped Planet Bluegrass according to the Post, but that hasn't stopped employees from planning for next year. "We're 100 percent committed that on July 25-27, we will be in Lyons and RockyGrass will happen that weekend," said Eyster. "Just on the emotional power alone, it'll be the best RockyGrass ever. It has to be."

We sure hope Planet Bluegrass is able to rebuild and come back better than ever.
