Family Emergency Leads To Black Crowes Postponement And Cancellation

Georgia rockers The Black Crowes were supposed to play a show at Iron City in Birmingham, AL last night. Unfortunately, a family emergency led to a postponement of the performance, which is now scheduled to take place this evening. However, the Crowes already had a show scheduled for tonight in Fayetteville, AR and that performance has been cancelled out right.

Those holding tickets for the show that was supposed to take place last night can either use their tickets for tonight or obtain a refund. Fayetteville ticket holders can get their money back at the place they purchased their tickets.

Here's the statement from The Black Crowes about the cancellation/postponement:

Birmingham Statement – 09/10/2013 – Birmingham, AL – Iron City

Due to a family emergency in Atlanta, tonight’s sold-out show with The Black Crowes at Iron City in Birmingham is cancelled. Attempts are being made to re-schedule the show with the same times & details to tomorrow night, Wednesday, September 11. All tickets purchased for tonight’s September 10 show will be honored for tomorrow night. Full refunds at place of purchase will be available for anyone who is unable to attend the rescheduled date. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

Fayetteville Statement – 09/11/2013 – Fayetteville, AR – Walton Arts Center

Due to a family emergency back in the band’s home town of Atlanta, The Black Crowes show scheduled to take place tomorrow night in Fayetteville at the Walton Arts Center, must regretfully be cancelled. Although best efforts have been explored to re-schedule, based on the band’s current schedule, there are no dates available at this time. Therefore, this is being treated as a cancellation as opposed to a postponement. All tickets can be refunded in full at place of purpose. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

According to the Iron City website, the Crowes will indeed perform tonight in Birmingham.

UPDATE 9/11 Noon PT: We're sad to report that Stan Robinson, the father of Chris & Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes passed away yesterday. A note on the Crowes Facebook Page reads, "We sadly bid a final farewell to our loving father, Stan Robinson. The man who lived his entire life in Atlanta, GA left this earthly realm Tuesday afternoon on wings of pure love and with his sons by his side. We love you Dad."

It appears tonight's show will go on as planned and we bet it will be an emotional concert.
