This is why I look at Pitchfork AND Jambase. 411 like this is way off Pitchfork's radar. Kudos Jambase.

they should include some americana artists that are not famous as well.

I really like Cadillac Sky from texas, great new grass, or the infamous string dusters? Jeeez there is lots of them I cannot name at this moment.

Also, where do they give awards to yonder mtn, or rr earth???

I just wish some attention had been paid to other deserving bands. such as previous ones mentioned.

The avetts cd was not that damn great, sorry.

what???? no emmylou harris?? songbird??? come on!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I better shut up and let the experts decide... bye now :)

Milesgone,

I hear what your saying bout the lack of industry respect for bands like YMSB, RRE, etc. but every artist/group that won an award was well deserving of it.

Part of the reason the Stringdusters and Cadilac Sky may not be winning awards is becuse they are not as widely known or been around long enough for people to get to know their music.

Also many of the awards given were for lifetime achievement which none of the bands you listed deserve quite yet.

One more thing do yourself a favor and go see the Avett Bros live next time they come close to your town. You just might change your opinion of them when you realize how much energy there is at one of their shows

I do think that the Avetts are very deserving of the awards. I've seen them several times over the past two years, and I must say that they are absolutely awe-inspiring! Good job, guys.....
