Animated Music Video Asks The Question, What Is Yo La Tengo?

NEW ANIMATED VIDEO FROM YO LA TENGO
PRODUCED BY FORMER SIMPSONS WRITER

New Jersey's Yo La Tengo is an immensely well-read band with a massive list of influences. This point is perhaps no better illustrated than the unrehearsed cover request shows they have performed for charity. The animated music video for "Ohm," the first tack on YLT's incredible 2013 album Fade, centers around a humorous word-association mathematical formula to answer the question, "What Is Yo La Tengo?" You may need to freeze frame a few times like we did to fully appreciate everything that is being displayed on the white board. There also is a baby smoking a cigar and the band plays inside a sandwich - good stuff.

The video was directed by Donick Cary, who among other qualifications, wrote some incredible episodes of The Simpsons in seasons 8-11.
