Sunday Cinema: Allman Brothers Band - Great Woods 1998

ENTIRE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND 1998 TOUR CLOSER
FROM GREAT WOODS SURFACES ON YOUTUBE

Back in April we hipped you to a stunning series of professionally-shot videos of Allman Brothers Band's appearance at Farm Aid in 1997 that showed off the Dickey Betts/Jack Pearson version of the legendary Southern Rockers. For today's Sunday Cinema selection, we've come across nearly an entire Allmans show from 1998 featuring the same Pearson/Betts/Gregg Allman/Butch Trucks/Jaimoe/Marc Quinones/Oteil Burbridge lineup.

On September 19, 1998 the Allman Brothers Band ended a lengthy summer tour at Great Woods in Mansfield, MA. The Allmans' set from that evening, as well as a bit of opener Sister Hazel's set, was broadcast as part of a Pay-Per-View special. Recently, a rip of the broadcast surfaced on YouTube for our viewing enjoyment. Unfortunately the "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed" which brought the ABB set to a close cuts just as it gets good and the "No One To Run With" encore is missing, but there's plenty of awesomeness including a scorching "Jessica," an acoustic mini-set featuring "Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad" and an intense "Dreams."

Watch 145 minutes of the Allman Brothers Band in action from 1998:
