KINGS OF LEON, THE FLAMING LIPS AND OTHERS
TO PERFORM AT "ROCK FOR OKLAHOMA" FUNDRAISER
Just a few weeks ago, devestating tornados ripped through parts of Oklahoma, causing numerous fatalities and an
insurmountable amount of damage to those affected. In an effort to raise money for the victims of the storm, a new
event - "Rock For Oklahoma"- has been announced and includes artists that have strong ties to the state.
The Flaming Lips currently live in Oklahoma City, and members of Kings of Leon are native to the small town of Talihina, Oklahoma. Both bands will be
taking the stage on July 23 at the Chesapeake Energy Center in Oklahoma City. The line-up also includes Jackson Browne and Built to Spill, with more to be announced according to event organizers.
“We couldn’t be more proud to lend a hand to our home state. We were all devastated by what happened there….we
have family and friends that were affected by the tornados….this is the least we could do,” said Jared Followill of
of Leon in a statement released.
Tickets for this event range from $35 to $50 and go on sale this Friday, June 14 and 10 a.m. on ticketmaster.com
