Widespread Panic and Umphrey's McGee Announce Shows in South Carolina

WIDESPREAD PANIC ANNOUNCES TWO SOUTH CAROLINA SHOWS IN OCTOBER
UMPHREY'S MCGEE TO OPEN BOTH DATES

Widespread Panic announced a two-night run at Family Circle Stadium in Charleston, SC on October 4-5 with special guests Umphrey's McGee. These two rock acts have shared a couple of stages in the past, but only a couple of collaborations have ever taken place. First was at a 2010 show at LC Pavilion in Columbus, OH where Umphrey's McGee keyboardist Joel Cummins joined Widespread Panic for "Space Wrangler" and a cover of The Guess Who's "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature." Later in 2010, Widespread Panic guitarist/lead singer John Bell joined Umphrey's McGee for a cover of Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" at the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam. Hopefully these newly announced dates lead to a long overdue meeting- of-the-minds for lead guitarists Jake Cinninger (Umphrey's McGee) and Jimmy Herring (Widespread Panic).

Tickets are on sale Friday May 17th at 10am via Ticketmaster.

UPDATE: Digging a bit further into Umphrey's McGee setlist database, we discovered Herring & Cinninger did share the stage on Jam Cruise in 2005 - though Herring was not yet a member of Widespread Panic.
