MOFRO Re-release / NYE Plans

JJ Grey & MOFRO
Following the success of JJ Grey & MOFRO's Alligator debut Country Ghetto, which has sold more than 25,000 copies in six months, Alligator Records is pleased to announce that we will be reissuing the two previous indie releases from MOFRO, 2001's Blackwater and 2004's Lochloosa. Each disc has enhanced content including a live video from the Blackwater sessions of "Ho Cake" and a live video of "Lochloosa" as well as the bonus track "Pray For Rain."

These two releases have been extremely difficult to get a hold of over the past couple of years (let alone for stores to keep in stock). Now with these albums being made available thru Alligator Records, we will bring an end to that arduous search to find these gems!

These will be hitting the streets on October 23, 2007 Order your copy now and it'll ship out before it hits the stores.

Place Your Order Now at www.alligator.com.

If you are one of the first 100 people to order either of these releases from Alligator, you will receive a copy autographed by JJ. The cost is $14.98 each (includes free U.S. shipping).

Guess I must have been lucky finding both of those discs already, but both are smokin good. Each are easily as good or better than Country Ghetto. If you're a MOFRO fan, I definitely suggest getting them both.

You can hear JJ Grey live on KPIG-AM San Francisco sometime between 1pm-3pm on November 3. Tune into 1510 AM in the Bay Area for the Saturday Ham Jam before Mofro's show in SF that night.

i have all three and i would say that country ghetto is the hottest one. the others are very good but seems like jJ is a little more with it on this one. the music is more polished, the sound isn't as garagey (?) but you still get that swampy grit. i've played it for some of my mainstream friends and this has opened up their eyes and ears. if you get a chance to see MOFRO live (or play some at a party) - you better call in sick the next day cause you will be sore from shakin' that ace!
