Band Of Horses Lineup Change
Tyler Ramsey Enters, Robin Perringer Exits

Tyler Ramsey
Band of Horses has once again swapped out their touring lineup. Robin Perringer has left and Ashville, NC's Tyler Ramsey has joined. The multi-instrumentalist has been touring with BoH as their opening act and will now join the band as a full-time member.

Ramsey's solo album, A Long Dream About Swimming Across the Sea will drop on January 15 on Echo Mountain Records. Echo Mountain is the same place that Band of Horses recorded Cease To Begin.

From www.echomountain.net:

As Tyler Ramsey was beginning to prep for his January CD release, he got a call from long time friend Bill Reynolds, bass player for Band of Horses. Bill invited Ramsey to come down to Charleston to hang out with the band playing music and hanging at the beach. It was during this time that singer Ben Bridwell asked Tyler Ramsey to open up for the Band of Horses fall tour. Then, the very next day, he asked Ramsey to join the Horses on guitar! This is how Asheville guitar hero Tyler Ramsey happened to pull the wildcard of both opening for, and joining, Band of Horses. An accomplished solo artist as well as veteran sideman in his hometown, Tyler is psyched to be able to bring both elements together on the upcoming tour. "This is going to be an amazing tour. To have the opportunity to play solo, as well as with such a great band, I really couldn't ask for more" says Ramsey.

Keep an eye on JamBase for a full Band of Horses feature coming soon!

Funny how folks pass judgment. I certainly can't tell anyone that BoH is amazing, i just know for me -- and many many others (Harp, Paste, Rolling Stone, MOJO, Uncut, Pfork etc) -- they make some of the best albums in recent history. And Sam Beam wouldn't even have a record deal if it weren't for his buddy Ben... (i like Iron & Wine too so i'm grateful to Ben for that as well). Ben is still learning how to perform live, he gets nervous around the camera and has only been writing and performing his songs for 2 years... i'm not sure how much time Roberto has spent with Ben, but i can assure you that he is one of the nicest, humblest most un-assuming musicians i've ever spent time with. To each their own, everyone has their taste, some don't like reverb drenched vocals, emotionally pregnant ideas and huge guitar attacks (MMJ and BoH), but in terms of just down to earth, nice dudes, Ben is top of the list.
