Disco Biscuits NYE Additions

GZA
The Disco Biscuits are extremely excited about the New Years Run, which is shaping up to be a mini five-day festival aimed to ring in 2008 in spectacular fashion! The band has added a bunch of club banging support acts and is getting ready to party!

For the Hammerstein Ballroom shows they've added the master of dub, OTT (Twisted Records - U.K. - psy-dub), who will be making the journey from Europe to play a live set on Friday and a set-break DJ set on Saturday. GZA (Wu-Tang Clan) with the Fyre Dept. featuring Adam Deitch and Eric Krasno (Soulive) will bring the house down with an opening set on Saturday. As if that wasn't enough, Orchard Lounge will join the fun for a set-break set on Friday night.

Additionally, Orchard Lounge will play with Future Rock and a very special guest to be announced for a special late night party at Highline Ballroom on 12/29 (technically 12/30). Tickets are on sale at highlineballroom.com.

Also for New Years Eve Bisco has added hometown favorites' Grimace Federation for a set of their incredible "think rock." As well, Philadelphia Experiment, the burning man camp famous for legendary local warehouse parties will take over the "black box" at the Tweeter Center.

BISCO...SIGHT...SOUND...PERFORMANCE

The Disco Biscuits
The Disco Biscuits are excited to announce CIRCO BISCO, the 2007 Three Ring New Years Celebration!

After two nights at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Friday December 28 and Saturday December 29, Bisco takes Philly by storm at the Electric Factory on Sunday the 30, culminating in a spectacle at the Tweeter Center on New Years Eve. This year tDB will be joined by special guests Keller Williams, Bassnectar and Antibalas!

That's just the beginning, however, as the "three ring" CIRCO BISCO overflows from the main stage to the black box and across the after hours dance floor. Stay tuned for info on additional performers and events... And don't forget, YOU are part of the circus! Come in Costume! Dress To Impress! Be a part of the show!

The line between performer and party-goer will become irrelevant at the Inaugural New Year's CIRCO BISCO!

Single day tickets to Hammerstein and Two day passes to Electric Factory & Tweeter go on-sale Friday October 19 on Bisco Tix and to the general public on Friday October 26. Make sure to get your tickets right away, as the best seats in the Tweeter are the 2 day passes! The first 1000 who buy tickets will get seated in the General Admission Pit!

So you want to celebrate New Years Eve in a major city, but fear there's no way you could afford it? Well, there's good news folks as our dear friend ConsiderItDan has already negotiated some great rates and put together a travel package for the 2008 New Years Run in Philadelphia. Packages start at just $349 per person, and include hotel accommodations for 2 nights, tickets to both the Electric Factory and the Tweeter Center, and shuttle transportation to and from your hotel and the venue on both the 30th and 31st. Basically, all you do is buy a package and get yourself to Philly, then ConsiderItDan will handle the rest! No need to wait in the cold for your will call tickets and no hassle trying to catch a cab. ConsiderItDan has arranged a will call window set up at the hotel of your choice so you can easily get your tickets upon room check-in. After a little pre-partying champagne, ConsiderItDan will whisk you away, deliver you to a raging night of fun, and make sure you get back your hotel safe and sound at the end of night. Check www.consideritdan.com, and get your travel packages while supplies last.

Jon Gutwillig is the best guitarist playing today period. They are one of the few bands out there that can pass the Acid test. You kids are doing too much bullshit drugs. Drop some L like a man and you'll thank God for the Disco Biscuits. I know some rave fans can be obnoxious, but most of them are just sweating and smiling with glow sticks. The DIsco Biscuits are simply amazing. Phil Lesh recorded their demo and has been a big supporter. They are trying to bring the ravers into the psychadelic mix. It's about time. 70% of the world is listening to dance music and they are listening to it on RECORDS. BISCO proves that a band can be far more interesting than a DJ ever can be. FOr good tapes, Check out any show at The Electric Factory in Philly. Good recordings are a must with Bisco.

Mullets are boring. 3 minute songs are boring, and yes indie rock with a pretty boy singing with a fake English accent is boring. If you can't compete just talk shit.

I'm setting the over/under on overdoses at 5. Paying 5 to 2. Any takers?

Fuck Philly's venues. The are as old and shitty as the city itself. Electric Factory blows, Penns Landing is to fucking small, the Tweeter Center sucks (Does anyone remember its really in CAMDEN!)

By the way, I can drop L and dance to water dripping in my sink. Biscuits still suck. Sorry BigFro. Its cool that you like them, but there is a reason everyone associates drugs and assholes with these guys. I like to have fun, but I'm not a asshole when getting down, or doing it out in the open blatenly as much, or almost dying and/or spending half the night in a K hole. I bet 75% of the people are there just because they know they can score. Bisco knows it, and they cater to it, and probably cook up half the shit thats going around. If I could go spin shitty techno, get $30 a ticket, and unload a bunch of shit, I'd take it on the road too. The way the fans act and they are portrayed, you have to look at the band they follow and ask questions.

I agree with toeknee...the biscuits are the main reason I gave up on E for the longest time...The message of the band and all that goes along with it is not for the music...yeah partyin is fun...but what about the real reason people like myself and toeknee go to shoes? Its about the experience and the music and not a commercialized drug fest...drugs will always be at concerts, which is fine...but for Christs sake, lets not degrade our generation and give in to the stereotype of so called hippies or ravers or whatever your feelin...lets make everyone realize that we can be responsible and still have a good time, which is a big task in the world of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll...

I just want to add that I've only seen the biscuits once in athens, ga in 2006, but they were nasty. I've quit getting wasted and turned my life over to the Lord. I still love to go to shows sober and just enjoy the music. I was sober at the biscuits show I went to and it was one of my favorite shows of the year. This message is not to judge or criticize anyone, I'm just adding that good bands are good no matter what state of mind your in.

I saw the disco biscuits once at 10klf this past summer. They came on after Umphrey's and i was let down. I expected a gr8 show but all i got was a crowd that seemed to car about the drug aspect more then the music itself. Now i'm not sayin i wasn't spun at this show but after a mind blowing Umphrey's set, disco just didn't bring it. If you want to go to a show to find drugs and listen to the same rifts be played over and over again for 10 minutes then listen to disco, but if you wanna hear music that actually sounds good w/ a band that know how to play there instruments LISTEN TO UMPHREY'S!!!

I'm not a fan of the E Factory. When I saw people moshing to a sitar jam at the last Fancy Band show, I knew something was wrong with that place. I had to throw a pencil away when I was searched...(but a lighter...that's perfectly fine). I'm gonna be in VA with a friend from 27 to at least the 29th, gonna see Duo at the sonar. Not sure if I wanna deal with the E Factory's stereotypical and obnoxious security, or if I wanna try for NYE. Also, I just don't feel UM too much. It reminds me of that cheesy neo-prog stuff too much, too dry for my tastes. Like whatever you want, though.

I've only Bisco a couple of times in SoFla when I used to live there and I have to say that they were really good. The only thing that I found incredibly annoying, and this goes for any show I go to is the people that never seem to shut the fuck up! I can't stand it when I go to a show and all the cell phone toting wanna-beez get together to chatter about how cool they are for being there. SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!! I go to live shows for the MUSIC and for the energy and excitement that improvisational music gives us. If you absolutely need to talk wait till the song ends or go to the lobby area or just get away from me!!!

1. It's not just the E Factory; people mosh at Fancy Band shows so get over and it get out some more.

2. Bisco has a faster groove than most bands can think. They obviously have the ability to think quicker and jam at a higher level than most bands. This doesn't make them the best, worst, or anything in between...it's the truth.

3. As for the holier than thou fans, who the hell are all of you? No one? Who gave you any authority about music? No one.

4. What's the difference between STS9 and Bisco crowds? At the last STS9 club I attended, the crowd was no different than a Bisco crowd. Why is there such a double standard?

5. I have never seen SO MANY people concerned about a band that they hate.

I guess everyone has to put themselves on a cloud so they can **** on the rest of us. Bisco fans, don't concern yourselves with these haters.

6. PEOPLE THAT DON'T DO OR TEACH, MUST CRITICIZE.

You can't just come on here and make assumptions about Disco Biscuits fans in general?? I know plenty of scum bag Phish heads, that dropped out of high school to tour and sell drugs, but does that make all Phish phans bad people?? gmoo, I really don't like being told to get out more. I go to as many shows as I can, even without a car, and if I have a ticket I'll take a bus or whatever I need to just to be there. All I know is that I didn't see any moshing or stupid fighting during any other fancy band show I saw. There's a big difference between moshing to highball and running into each other during gabby's part of vernon the company man. The E Factory security are jackasses just to be jackasses, they're complete stereotypes and they just like to give everyone shit.

Bisco kids need to quit smoking deemsters? How is that relevant? And what's with the crack smoking and all that? I doubt that guy actually saw that. Hell, Friday night at All Good some guy near me during Ratdog said someone was smoking crack in the bathroom. Maybe or maybe not, but I wouldn't delude myself into believing that just because it had a more classic vibe to it that there wouldn't at least be some crazy people there. And if the biscuits are retarded, how is it that they can "unload shit" at all of their shows and still have that information only known to the bored haters on the internet?

I think its funny how critics of the Disco Biscuits seem to talk more about drugs and the scene than the fans themselves do... Real fans talk about music... Whether someone does K, DMT, Cocaine or any other number of drugs is entirely irrelevant... I see more people on here bash on the fans and the drugs than the music itself... Joe shmo might smoke deemsters, crack and stuff K up his nose, but that doesnt mean he cant have anything to say about the music itself, that he's not a fan, or that he's in it for all the wrong reasons... People have the right to express their opinions of any band or any type of music, but theres no need for people to judge people... Go ahead and explain why you dont like the Biscuits, express your opinions on Umphreys being a better band, its a free country... But dont judge me simply because im a fan, you dont know anything about me or what the music means to me... Grow up, live and let live, and get over yourselves... Go see your band if the Biscuits dont do it for you, im happy you found what you love, be happy for me... -Peace

I'm a fan of UM and Bisco, and I have to say that the one thing they have in common is, after seeing both of them a number of times, you seem to get either an unbelievable show out of both of them, or a very boring show out of both of them. if you were at the umphreys show at grant park or lincoln park zoo in chicago this summer you'd know what I'm talking about, or at Summercamp 06 when bisco played their daytime set, it was a snoozefest. But Bisco at Lincoln Park zoo this summer was amazing. UM at the Aragon ballroom always seems to be a great show too. ALso, i was not on any hard drugs at any of these shows, Im just into music that sounds good to me. I'll probably goto one or two of the UM shows NYE weekend, but I wish I could check out the Biscuits instead.

Pissed off muppets like to talk shit, but some bands play songs and other bands go for broke even if it means sometimes they fall flat on their face. When The Disco Biscuits hit their stride it is pure perfection and I dare you to show me ten guitarist who can keep a lead going for as long as intense as Jonny does. I have only had amazing times at the E Factory. I'm sorry if others did not. Great music and long shows when I've seen Bisco there

Ravers and Hippies both need to grow up and stop dissing each other. The Disco Biscuits were a Jam band for like eight years before they started to go funky. We all can't stay frozen in time. If you saw the band rock out November Rain or Aceetobee lately, you know they still rock.

Hammerstein does suck ass.

As for ten guitarists being better than Jonny. You notice they are not important enough to be mentioned. Warren, Trey on a good night. Brendan and Jake as a team, and Jimmy Herring are all great in their own way. I prefer Jon, but love them all. Few Transcend rock and roll and go for it every night the way Jerry used to. Jonny is one of them. Warren can do no wrong when he sets his mind to it. Sound Tribe rocks, but that guitar player quits his lead every time he finds something large. Jonny always takes things to their peak. The greats risk looking shitty to find that moment of greatness.

I repeat Acid is still your friend and is more than just a drug like cocaine, mali, heroine, or alcohol. I dare you to get addicted to it. So many people get frightened by L and hide behind the thin walls of E rather than break on through. Hey that's your gig baby. It is my opinion that the biggest difference between the Dead heads and the ravers and Jamers is that Heads Dosed and many kids think E or coke or alcohol is the same thing. Marijuana is the only thing that comes close. Of course some boys like shroomers, which is fine. You should all read LSD Psychotherapy by Stan Grof before you let angry muppets call you a junky for dosing a few times a year.

Gribblecake Sat 10/13/2007 03:47PM

Gribblecake

I think Sound Tribe are afraid of letting the hooks of their song be on guitar. I dunno why, I'd personally love it if they just toughened up the sound and let hunter to more trippy stuff, because I've heard a good number of things that'd be great if he went on playing it longer. My favorite guitar is Ler, that man can match the perfect guitar part to some of the most obtuse bass parts, that man truly has an understanding of tone and dynamics and everything that makes an intelligent musician.

I've not run into anything as bad as heroin. I've heard stories of people looking for meth at days-long raves, but that's a little different. I wouldn't consider most of the people at biscuits shows ravers. Acid is far superior to almost anything mentioned, but when paired with some form of mdma it really meshes well. I'm just don't wanna deal with it too much and fuck up my brain's serotonin too much. I find dancing only slightly easier when rolling, dosing makes it almost as easy for me (I'm usually a restrained person when it comes to stuff like that).

Gribblecake

Well don't feel me too much, I haven't really given consent.

Most of these people that are called hippies...not hippies. I've found most people who look like them are only marginally held together with some values like those from 40 years ago. But alot of it just seems like looks. Usually nice people, but I'm afraid too many are only focusing on the drug aspect of the culture and not the philosophies, the parts about learning to control your own brain, see how it can be probed, so where it will take you, trying to find something a little more transcendent. I cringe when people sum up a trip as "did you get fucked up?" That's not the point of it, it's a high that's projected on the world around you, not something that gives you a coke or opiate high that just makes you feel good with no work, it's selfish. You can't take euphoria back with you, so why go straight to the source when you can find it through a much more rewarding path and still have perspective, and oh yeah not get addicted. I always find myself learning something. For whatever reason, it just seems so familiar to my personality. I'm just worried about being one of those people who do too much. It's usually very clean, not that speedy stuff that makes your nerves feel like spikes for three hours (camp bisco...halucinogen in dub...yeah...), so that's probably better, but it's hard to feel out your limits for it. And some people shouldn't really deal with it at all. I think for most a few good ones will give you a taste enough to really alter how you put yourself in this little play.

DMT is the only psychedelic naturally produced in the human pineal gland. also refered to as the spirit molecule, dmt use can be traced back to ancient cultures. Its value as a visionary substance is indispensible. Anyone who has had a full scale dmt experience knows that it is not a party drug whatsoever. Just because some idiot spunion gets his hands on some DMT doesn't that it is anything less of an amazing gift. For any youngbloods reading this. stay wise and try not to acknowledge the haters.

and oh yea I think it is curious that disco biscuits are everyone's favorite band to talk shit about.

so if any of yall haterz want to direct a comment at a bisco fan please message me directly so I can defy all your preconceptions.

I second Innaheights comment. That molecule sure is something. On the last day of camp I finally came across it and I did it, dear lord, if any of you saw a longhaired kid in a black sweatshirt running around with an enormous grin before sts9 set, that was me. Candyflipping come up, but that was just pure euphoria, the sunset off to the side of the stage, damn near cried looking at that. I've felt so much more at ease even after once, although I tried it again after. It's not something you just say "I wanna get fucked up". The second time I had it I fasted, didn't eat junk food, drank water, actually meditated outside, I have so much respect for it, and it's self-evident to anyone who has tried it. It's fun for live music and all of that, but that's different than the get drunk, do some lines, forget where the fuck I am party. I'm not too fond of that stuff.

listen....any one that thinks the disco biscuits have a good sound is retarded. They're "livetronica" sound is good for mabey 1 or 2 songs at most, after that they just copy and paste the same groove. And don't even get me started on the vocals. I've heard dog's sing better then any of those hacks. They're one remdeming quality is that they know how to through a festival. Other than that, you are all sheep in line for the slaughter.

Let down at bisco's 10KLF show???!?!? I personally on the other hand thought they played an amazing show. I have seen Bisco two other times before this and I thought they were alright but I never spent much time downloading their shows or paying much attention to their music period, but after the 10K show I found their cohesive jamm'n went places that many other bands cannot even come close to. Their approach to "trance-fusion" is very interesting and opens up many doors which the band can enter and go places and always jump from that point to another.

KELLER, BASSNECTAR, and ANTIBALAS....HOT DAMN that is an amazing lineup.

I take it many kids out there aren't familiar with ANTIBALAS. That is a shame because rhythm and grooves run deep here folks, these guys are like the "neo-FELA KUTI" band bringing west african rhythms and politically conscious lyrics, I recommend.

Love 'em or hate 'em, at least the Biscuits have people talking. Look at the last 20 articles on Jambase....overall not much activity on the boards. I too must chime in on the 10KLF performance 2007.....it was my first time seeing the band and they thoroughly impressed me. As a matter of fact I would say that they deserve a headline spot during night 1 of 10KLF 2008. There were no more (or less) drugs at during the Bisco set than any other at 10KLF. Look deeper before you stereotype an entire scene.

nice! only bisco show i've seen was the free show at the zoo in chicago w/umphreys in like april or may this year, which was cool (except for them having to end the set during "kashmir"....). i'm prolly gonna make it to the chicago show this week. and yeah i am sorta hoping to score *something* because it's hard to find psych's, however i'm also hoping it's not a trashy crowd like a lot of people seem to be implying here.

oh and check out bassnectar! got to see him last night and he threw down!

Hahaha, brian the bullboarder.

yes, everyone see bassnectar. I can't believe this guy almost never gets longer than an hour unless you're lucky and he does an after party. He shoulda done that in DC. Maybe he did. Maybe he didn't; saw nothing about it. Definitely would have made my night better.

That new year's lineup does look damn good (Keller at a biscuits show is kind of funny though, but I like him). However, it's not looking good, so I'll probably just see them in baltimore and wilkes-barre. Then Lotus as World cafe twice next month, then the duo/the join in december.

I do not care for the singing.. but otherwise, I enjoy them.

I love all of those bands now, but there is something that the biscuits do that makes me love them. As for the scene, I just don't see a lot of shiet head kids. Most everyone I meet on the scene are cool people. If you don't like all the ugly drugs then don't go or ignore it, but don't bash every Disco Biscuits fan and lump them in the loser drug addicts that are mean to everyone. I've seen far worse at IT or All Good then at Camp Bisco or Biscuits/STS/Umphrey's shows IMO. As for NYE i can't wait it's gonna ge awesome!

I saw nitrous as All Good, and that place had a very good vibe. I don't think it's the drugs (usually unless it's something that's pretty bad), it's the attitude. After the sts9 show in sonar, as I was walking out I heard someone yell "walk faster so we can get out of here and do more drugs!" Now I don't know if he was sarcastic or not, but there are people who have that mentality. You can do plenty of things and still be an intelligent and normal person. Letting that rule your life and being the focus of everything, even after good music, makes you look like a pathetic kid there for the scene.

this is completely true. biscuits take risks with their improv and really know how to jam, and sometimes it sounds like shit but when they get it right, they really fucking get it right.

It is a spirit molecule and should be treated with respect. 2) NYE run last year was awesome, but this year no Simon or Benjy. can't deny that i'm slightly disappointed. 3) the biscuits late night sets at echo were a thing of beauty. the moonlight sonata encore nearly brought tears to my eyes, and then spaga had me raging once again. 4) those of you that hate on the biscuits aren't going to change our minds, so please go away. i don't jump in and poop on your panic boards. we don't care how much you hate them, seriously. get off your computer and do something else. go outside, go jerk off, go eat tacos. we dont give a damn. just go.

trusmoka, dissappointed to hear you let the nitrous ruin your time. it doesn't matter where you go or if the biscuits are even there, the nitrous will be. dont let it keep you from coming back to echo. friday night i was woken at about 5 in the morning by the hissing of the tanks. next thing i knew some dude was getting tackled and busted with the tank. they definitely dont allow it. that was the main thing they were trying to stop. the nitrous isnt why the sketchy dudes were looking in cars. ITS BECAUSE THEY ARE SKETCHY DUDES.

I must say the biscuits catch a lot of shit on this sight, but so dont other bands people like. the main thing is that music is good for the soul bottom line. if you dont like the biscuits its cool if you do its cool too. but there isnt any reason to sit here and bash bands you dont like. ask yourself why you dont like a band that you are talking trash about. i mean it could just be that style doesnt suit you or that you dont like drugs or a certain scene. thing is we're all plain ass folk. bottom line we brethe the same air walk on the same earth etc...blah blah blah. I will say to those "haters" of any genre but for this example the biscuits. go see them live. they are terrific performers you may not like the sound but you probably will like the show. they are one of the best live acts around energy goin from start to finish. so who cares of joe shmoe is eating molly or if patty cakes is smoking nuggets or if you are the sober driver just have a good time and a great show. thats it good show to one and all

NO, cuttyfives, how about you and all the other kids wasting away the few brain cells you have left pick up after yourselves. People doing Nitrous have less respect than drunks (which is pathetic and true). It's all about respecting yourself, your neighbors, your environment, your community, and your scene. If you wanna trash your community, go ahead. But be damn sure that good, caring people aren't always gonna be there to clean up your shit. I actually got shit at All Good 2005 for picking up trash and because of that, as well as other personal reasons, I will never return to All Good (even though Ween almost drew me back to the most ghetto festival I have ever been to. Oh and just so it is known, the Disco Biscuits didn't play that year (Ghetto kids not at a Bisco show?!?!)). All of the people who used to put soooo much positive energy in to the scene have either moved on or participate less due to the fact that there is just less respect in general at these events now. However, I feel this is not just a trend in our scene, but in society in general. Have fun in Jersey (if you actually believe those words fit together in a sentence) and tell Bassnectar Portland misses him!!!!!!! P.S.= I miss Cheese!!!!!!!

TRUE STORY: My dad used to work for the Cincinnati Bengal's and at his wedding I met a guy who worked at the First Star Center (US Bank Arena, whatever new name it has). I got all excited and informed him that the last time I had been there was in 2004 when I took my girlfriend to see her first Phish shows. Right after that his wife chimed in and asked what we were discussing so I told her the Phish shows in 2004 and she got this look I will never forget and said "Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. I have never seen so much shit in all my life." I thought this was a little humorous at first, but she then went on to tell me that she seriously meant SHIT, shit in the seating area, shit in the walkways and concession areas, shit all over the bathroom floors, and shit in the parking garages. For this lady, her husband, and I'm sure many other people, due to the conduct of a few fans, Phish's final visit to Cincinnati will forever be associated with SHIT. THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A MOMENT AND PLEASE CONSIDER THE IMPACT OUR COMMUNITY CAN AND DOES HAVE ON THE REST OF SOCIETY. WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE REMEBERED FOR?

I was running desperately...all over the whole damn arena and parking lot looking for a bathroom. I just shat a little bit at each locale I went to. But unfortunately I left my pooper scooper at home that day. So I left all my poop for your dad's buddy's wife to sift through after the show. My apologies. That was me and not the bisco kids. bisco always causes so much contreversy. I love Bisco for their music, not the drugs or the fans. There fans are rowdy and theres always a reason for it, the E and the NE crew. Its there personality and there choice, ignore the assholes and sketballs, all you have to do is block out the bad and let the good come in, i personally feel that the sketchiness bisco brings is what makes them more intense live and makes them who they are as a band. Jon the Barber is a good guitarist but def not the best. Herring is the best guitarist right now. I think brownstein is who molds there jams, he is my favorite person in the band because he seems like he enjoys what he does, by the way bisco played way better the 2nd day at echo. anyone who went to the biscuits NYE show last year knows how ridiculously fun it was- drugs or not, i don't think i saw one person there NOT having fun and thats what its all about! I wish Questlove was gonna be there again- that was sooo sick last year.!!! i'm happy about keller and bassnectar though.

i'm from philly and shitty as people may think it is, we still have one of the best music around. philly and camden are currently the 2 most dangerous cities in the US (in terms of murders) so hopefully the cops will have more to worry about than some spun out biscuit kids off in their own world having a great time. TO EACH HIS OWN MAN! stop thinking about it so much and just have fun.

i will most definitely be there again this year and it will be a fucking BLAST!!! And even if you aren't crazy about their music, come on, dressing up crazy for an indoor circus on new years!?!?! how could that NOT be fun?

Sgt. pepper > Home >Saftey Dance... greatest opening of any show ever.) I don't understand the bad rap at all. what band in the scene isn't (for better or worse) plauged with drug use? every bisco show i go to i make friends with everyone, leave my hoodies and belongings unattended while dancig and find them onxe the show is over and have a great time listening to gret music. I love UM too but i find those shows to be packed with drunken obnoxious frat boys bumping into me spiling beer everywhere. do i hold that against the band, or even it's fans? nah, becuase douche bags are douce bags wherever they are. and personally i'll take the e-tard trying to give me a hug over the drunk asshole trying to push me and get in front of me.

anywho, can't wait for the new year'a shows! is bassnecter playing late night into the early morning, please god tell me yes. see all you good, happy, positive people there... to the rest of you have fun talking shit online about a band and their fans that could give a fuck what you have to say anyway.

Man, what's with all the haterade being consumed around these parts. I am personally attending the 12/30 and 12/31 shows and I am excited. I have only seen bisco once before this, last february at starland and they were hella tight. I am pretty stoked, especially since keller is playing at the NYE show. The Keller part is pretty much what put this over as the show I was going to attend on NYE. I will agree though, the bisco scene just isn't my bag. A lot of like speed freaks, really. But hey, it's their cup of tea, I don't have to partake.

Whether you like the biscuits or not you have to give it to them for putting on three festivals this year, including one in Jamaica which looks like it will be ridiculous. If you don't like the music that's great, but they do put the opportunities out there to see them and many other great bands on the scene.

Oh and for the record I forgot to mention that I look like one of those ghetto hippie trash Bisco kids you all rag on, however I have a college degree, and have managed a restaurant for two years including one year while I was in school. I raged the whole time, so don't hate on kids for eating drugs just because of some us can lead a very upstanding life too.

bisco is ok, but i can't deal with dudes running around in polo shirts with sunglasses that are so coked out or rolling so hard they don't enjoy the actual experince of a great concert. i mean im not saying i never rolled, but u got to learn how to control yourself and take the music in and relax. instead of just running around being idots.i much rather go see moe or p groove any day than bisco. and the girl situation, come on; its new years, probably not an overwhelming number of them at any show - unless its the cheeeeeese, and well you know; wouldn't want to be there anyway.

Way to make fun of me, Roberto767. You really, really put yourself above me on that one bro. Honestly, did that make you feel better about yourself, ripping on me like that? You must have 'top of the world' confidence if you are daring enough to RIP ON A COLLEGE KID WHO HAS GUTS TO LET HIS EMOTIONS AND FEELINGS BE KNOWN. Oh my god Gmoo showed human emotion, might as well blast him for having any kind of feeling or thought. I wish I would have known that you were THAT much cooler than me, or I would have never posted at all. Roberto767, how about taking a stand for something you believe in, rather than always needing someone else's opinion to be relavent. I don't even have time for ridiculous people like you in my life anymore. Stop trying to distract us with your BS please.

Gmoo - this is the bisco forum and everyone plays dirty in here. Grow some thicker skin buddy. Nothing wrong with saying "Woot Woot" if you are a black guy, but let's be honest with ourselves - White college kids saying "woot woot" is rather amusing. It just doesnt feel very authentic. I can't really explain why...but it just is. Reminds me of watching Arsenio Hall back in the early 90s. And what's with getting all emo on me bro? This is jambase, not emobase.

Anyone remember the Camp Bisco where the dude OD on cocaine, oxycotin, xanax, valium, alcohol, and Phentnyl. Fun times. or how about the Camp Bisco where the guy went off and sold oxycotins as E pills and because of it some kids faded out in his car with the heat running and when the sun came up he fried to death. I met the kid who sold those oxys. He said he laughed when he found out the kid died. My kind of scene. I'm going to The Word and Dark Star instead, fuck Camden. Scene The Bisco Crackpipe about 12-13 times (usually at festivals). Only good show was the Tractor Beam show this past fall at the Chamelion Club thank God I didn't have to hear them sing that show.

Yet more people bitching about the people and the scene with nothing constructive to say about the music... Bisco is ghetto, they're from Philly and northeast rages the hardest. Everyone knows that. If you cant handle it go see someone else, its pathetic that people let their own impressions of a "scene" overshadow the music itself... Bisco kids arent hippies and people shouldnt expect them to be. It only makes sense to me that the scene is rough seeing where these guys come from. Bottom line, if you love the music you'll show up. If all you can do is bitch about the people and the scene then the music obviously doesnt mean enough to you to be there at all, so good riddance more room for me.

Hippiecat - Please try not be so judgemental of the Bisco scene. I would have missed out on some great memories from Grateful Dead shows if I had committed the attribution error that you are making with the Bisco crowd. I was into the Grateful Dead for years before I was finally able to see a show. My first impression was an insane lot scene (nitrous tanks included) and woman in late-stage pregnancy having a bad trip on the floor of the Silver Bowl in Las Vegas. People are people no matter where you go or who you see. I hope that you enjoy The Word and DSO but are open to try the Disco Biscuits some other time.

Does having a lot of money make you a bad person? People are throwing this 'trusties' word around quite a bit and I don't get the negativity. I've always heard, "It's where you finish, not where you start." Absolutely no reason to be jealous people. They have problems just like you, but I guarantee they'll be less likely to help you on a personal level if people call them names.

Clearly we're all passionate about music or we wouldn't be here - we could rag each other's "scenes" or music choices all night but bottom line, it's personal preference; we can't help but like like what we like so lets be real, bisco fans are not going to stop being bisco fans and bisco haters aren't going to stop being haters and that's totally fine. Have fun with it but remember there's no need to get super emotional or make blatantly hurtful statements.
