"We've made a conscious decision to create a sense of urgency - to mirror what is a dire situation in Darfur. It's not just a symbolic gesture," says Waxploitation's founder Jeff Antebi. "These non-profits need help there now."

Although estimates of the number of people killed by the conflict in Darfur vary widely from 200,000 to 400,000, what is certain is that more than 2 million people have fled their homes because of the fighting, and 4 million are now in need of humanitarian assistance-making this one of the worst crises in the world today.

Celebrating its 10th Year, Waxploitation has been championing great music and making a difference through active humanitarian causes for a decade. The company was founded as a record label for innovative artists, and broadened to include Artist Management and Music Publishing in 2000. The management company roster includes Danger Mouse, as well as Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo Green's multi-platinum, two-time Grammy Award winning Gnarls Barkley collaboration. The publishing company represents catalogs which include classics like 'Bust A Move', 'Wild Thing' and 'Funky Cold Medina' as well as Beastie Boys groundbreaking Paul's Boutique album.

good tunes for a good cause. by the way, if you happen to watch the bejing olympics next summer, you will be promoting the genocide in darfur because china is sudan's largest trading partner.

a big middle finger goes to any american athletes who particiapate in them next year becasue they'll be supporting this atrocity. oh well, not like any of them in the outdoor sports will be able to win a gold medal becasue they're gonna have a hard time breathing in the thick ass chinese fog.
