Lenny Kravitz Announces
IT IS TIME FOR A LOVE REVOLUTION
New album set to hit stores February 5, 2008

Lenny Kravitz
Lenny Kravitz says it's time for a revolution and he is launching a musical movement to do just that with the release of his 8th studio album on February 5, 2008. The album, entitled It Is Time For A Love Revolution (Virgin Records America), is Kravitz's first new release in over three years; the record is a thunderous rock 'n' roll call-to-arms, featuring a universal blend of soul, funk, and jazz grooves and the undeniable anthemic lyricism that's been his trademark from day one.

"I love this record and the feel of the record," Lenny Kravitz said of the release. "I felt like a kid playing in my bedroom, and that's the most important thing you can tap into, that feeling of being free."

That freedom is the fire inside It Is Time For A Love Revolution, which is sonically and spiritually as vibrant as Kravitz's debut album, Let Love Rule. Regarded as one of the great rock musicians of our time, Lenny Kravitz has achieved tremendous critical acclaim and commercial success with a succession of groundbreaking album releases, multiple # 1 singles on the Billboard Top Singles charts and an unparalleled collection of awards from throughout his career, including GRAMMYs, American Music Awards and MTV Video Music Awards. Written and recorded over the course of the last year, in various locations from New York to Miami, Paris, the Bahamas and Brazil, It Is Time For A Love Revolution holds up as one of the Kravitz's best albums with its raucous rock 'n' roll jams, heavy drums, tight hip-shaking grooves, frenetic guitars and Kravitz's unmistakable croon.

Kravitz plans to tour behind It Is Time For A Love Revolution for two years after its release, but first he will help bring in 2008 with an exciting live performance from Times Square performing two songs during NBC's world famous New Years Eve with Carson Daly.

I know he got cheesy after Circus but the man can actually shred. Played all instruments on first album except for horns which was Mr. Karl D's job.

Mr. Cab Driver, fuck you I'm a survivor!!!

I think it's pretty damn stupid to hear someone like Lenny Crackitch is starting a revolution. I can't wait to hear his next mediocre hit on the radio & tv every hour.

Ok i know people are like... "why the hell is this on jam base?" to lots of articles... but seriously why the hell is Lenny Kravitz on jambase? I really feel sorry for the guys that put time and effort into articles that i dont like but seriously? Any band, group or artist that has been on TRL should not be made mention of here... Seriously i want to learn about new bads carrying on the jazz improv that made jam what is. Sorry article maker. I dont like being rude on your slow news day but it was bound to happen. At least i apologized.

Why does everyone who posts to these boards feel like Jambase should report LESS news? Do they think that somehow someone out there will see this article and all of a sudden think that Kravitz leads a jam outfit? Not likely. So you may not relate to every article posted here...big deal. There are people out there who like Kravitz, and believe it or not, some of them like traditional 'jambands' too. I say bring all the music to us, Jambase...I'll choose to read some articles and skip over others, but at least I'll have the choice.

Y'all gotta loosen up, baby! So many of the people here are too busy sticking their nose up at stuff, they forget that you listen to music w/ your EARS (and BOOTY)!!! I don't own any Kravitz tunes, never been to a show, but every time I've seen clips of him live, he's FUNKY AS SHEEYAT! The lady drummer he tours w/ (Cindy Blackman) lays it down! Yeah, he's video/image conscious, but hey, he's an entertainer! His lyrics sometimes are a sometimes little bit fluffy, but any chick I've ever known starts shakin' their behind whenever they hear his stuff...and that's pretty cool.

I love pop stars like Lenny. I even like hearing about his tour. He can sing and play guitar. He's been known to play the same set every night. He can be truly amazing when he stops worrying about how godlike he is. I just wouldn't mind hearing about some bands that jam every once and awhile.

Yep, nothing like waxing revolutionary and releasing on a major.

man, before he was a POP icon, we thought he was cool.

Just listen to the album with Mr Cab Driver on it. For me, it was his only release that was really great.

as far as live show or all that, I dunno, have not seen him.

BEFORE HE WA A POP STAR!. Let Love Rule is Note for note a Beatles album. They are all Beatles songs with different words. SLow down Mr Cab driver a little and you'll notice it is Back in the USSR, note for note for you musicians out there. Hey Jude was also used for Let Love Rule. Lenny change the order of the verses, but the notes are the same. NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA, NA NA NA. HEY JUDE, YOU'VE GOT TO LET LOVE RULE, NA NA NA" SING ALONG PEOPLE. He was sued by the Beatles and his record company settled out of court. I don't like thieves. I took him seriously even with the rip offs until I saw him at Horde with a bunch of bands that i though were not as good as him and he seemed like a pop star. Even Dave Matthews was crunchier. Lenny even said himself on the third night of the tour. "I guess I'm the pop star of the tour" get the tape from San Bernadino. I was trying to give Lenny a break by not mentioning the Beatles stuff, but many of you mention the rip off album as a reason for Lenny's geniuis. Yes Hey Jude is a good song and Yes Let Love Rule is a noble concept, but stealing is stealing and that is less than honorable. EVERYONE BORROWS, BUT FEW RIP OFF ENTIRE SONGS NOTE FOR NOTE. So pop star is going to have to be the label here.

This past Thursday night, forty people - mostly from

Virgin Records and EMI Recorded Music, were invited to

Lenny's home to listen to his upcoming album It Is

Time For A Love Revolution.

At his home, penthouse on Crosby Street, everyone had

to remove their shoes before walking on his brown rug

laid throughout the apartment. He also has a painting

of his mother in one room - who was Roxy from Good

Times (the TV show during my time). Attending were

top music industry executives Jason Flom President of Virgin, Roger Ames CEO EMI,

Jeff Kempler COO Virgin, Edna Abad Head of Artist Relations EMI, Lee Trink, and Steve Smith.

The album will be released February of next year -

2008. The entire album was produced in Brazil and he

loved the feel of the record. Best sone is "Bring it

On." Sounds like he got back to his original vibe in

the albuum.

The most awesome part of the evening was not even the

album, but running into his beautiful stunning

daughter, who came in and said "Dad, I didn't know you

were having people over". When she left, she was

wearing a pink skirt that was soo short, that Lenny

turned into "dad-mode" and said "Isn't it a little too

short to be going out in that skirt?" It was

fantastic seeing Lenny's totally human side and

realizing he is just like every other caring dad out

there.
