Phil Lesh & Friends Fall Tour 07 Food Drives

Phil Lesh
The Conscious Alliance and Phil Lesh & Friends are proud to announce food drives during the upcoming shows in Colorado and New Mexico. All foods collected will go to benefit the Metro CareRing Family Assistance Center of Denver and Native American Reservations in the greater Santa Fe, New Mexico area. All patrons who donate 10 non-perishable food items will receive a limited edition Phil Lesh & Friends poster by famed rock artist, Richard Biffle.

There will be one poster for both Colorado shows - Denver's Fillmore Auditorium and Red Rocks - and one poster for the Paolo Soleri show in Santa Fe, NM. Together, these posters form a 2-Panel masterpiece. Both posters will be available at each of the three shows for a donation of 20 food items.

Donation bins will be located outside of the main entrance to each venue, where a volunteers will exchange food items for poster vouchers that can be redeemed any time during or after the concert at the Conscious Alliance "Art that Feeds" booth inside the venue.

These posters will also be available in exchange for monetary donations - which will be used to kick-off the Conscious Alliance Holiday Drive that each year delivers thousands of turkey dinners to some of our country’s most impoverished families.

The Conscious Alliance always encourages food donations to be low-sodium, health food oriented products. Organic food donations are especially encouraged.

Ramen Noodles can no longer be accepted in exchange for the FREE Poster.

Thank you for your continued support in feeding the hungry everywhere the music plays!

Ramen noodles getting dissed. The jamband world runs on Ramen: From the bands driving around in beat up vans, to the beat up vans that follow them. Ramen forever!

I think the problem with Ramen noodles is that you can get a 12 pack for like a buck so everyone would just donate those to get a poster for cheap.

no ramen b/c its hardly even food. One of the conscious alliance people at sound tribe said she knew someone who ate nothing but ramen for a couple months and died because it has almost no nutritional value

Was anyone else at the Santa Barbara show underwhelmed? I had my dancing shoes laced up and was sufficiently spun, however every song left a lot to be desired. I understand it was the first show of the tour, but man what a bummer. I just hope Phil is doing well, I heard the next day was better. I guess it kinda doesn't help that the last time I saw him was the late night show at Vegoose that completely melted my face.

I love phil helping people. I worry about the vocals on the new tour. And Molitz isn't my favorite keyboardist either. I might have to pass. I'll watch all of your reviews of the shows before NYC.

sleewell, I too was not blown away with the Santa Barbara show. Being the first show, there are always some kinks to work out. The tech problems were terrible. The mics not loud enough. The mics going completely out. We could barely hear Phil, etc, etc, etc. But my main beef is that I felt like I was at the Jackie Greene show and I'm not completely sold on him, yet.

However, I love Phil and it seemed that the 2nd set made up for the sometimes painful 1st set. Cold Rain & Snow opener with a Brokedown Palace encore. My wife and I (along with most in attendance) left there with major grins on our faces. Jam on Phil!!!

Hoodovoodo, do you think you are funny. I can't believe jambase posted yoiur comment. Racist. I work with Native Americans in recovery and I think you are an asshole. How dare you stain this beautiful webiste and Phils hard work with your tacky, lame racist hateful comment. By the way, most populations who have suffered genocide are vulnerbale to substance issues and Indigenous people are no different. Why don't you think before you post ridiculous shit like this, and Jambase editors maybe a little responsibility keeping racism off these posts would be in the best interest of this jam music community which I love deeply.

Assafjaffe...Aparently you have no sense of humor whatsoever. You work with Native Americans in recovery huh? My point exactly. What I said is not racist at all. There is a much higher percentage of American Indians that are alcoholics than that of the general public. Look it up, dumbass. I watched the Daily Show the other night and Jon Stewart made a joke about Jews. I guess by your logic, that makes him an "asshole" and an anti-semite. So before you start spouting off on your little tirade, why don't you do some research? Oh...and by the way, I'm 25% American Indian.

Assajaffe...I wrote what's above, not roberto767. He's my roommate and he was already logged in. Just wanted to clarify that. By the way...I'm a recovering alcoholic too. Maybe you should do a couple shots of Jaegermesiter yourself and lighten up a little. I'd hate to run into you in a dark alley. Jesus Christ...

Classy stuff guys... Your aggressive sense of humor and truthiness is uplifting to everyone-- keep the dream alive boys... Now, to grab those couple shots of Jag, lighten up, and still know that you guys are super lame... Was it you two gents who gathered up all that Ramen and scored those great posters to show off?

Hoodovoodo, I love Jaegermeister and if I ran into you in a dark alley I'd tell you a tasteless joke, I just thought your comment was insensitive. Native people do have the highest rates of addiction, and I guess if you're Native you have evry right to make fun of your own. I just thought the comment made light of a serious issue and sounded a little racist, sorry if I came off strong, and you're probably not an asshole at all. I'll do a shot of Jaeger with you in mind, Peace

It saddens me deeply to see all of the hate on these threads. Lets just all get together and boil up a big ol' pot of Ramen noodles and have a good time. Amen to Ramen! RAMEN!!!!!!!!!!

Squashed Ramen

1 package of ramen, cooked with seasoning and drained

1/8 c butter

1 small zucchini, sliced

1 small yellow squash, sliced

1/4 c onion, diced

1 tsp Season-All (McCormick’s)

While ramen is cooking, saute the vegetables in butter, in a pot large enough to hold ALL ingredients. Cook to your own preference: soft vegetables take 5-7 minutes, slightly crispy will take about 2-3 minutes more. Drain ramen. Pour ramen over vegetables. Sprinkle Season-all and carefully mix all ingredients. Serve and enjoy.

I feel bad for the person who died on the all Ramen diet. What a way to go.

Maybe if they had some crackers to go with it they'd still be alive today.

No worries assjaffe...I guess I can see how my comment might be offensive if you took it seriously. My only intention was to make people laugh.(Seriously...i think it would be hilarious if Phil had a liquor drive but I doubt it would happen since Phil's on his 2nd liver). I stay away from Jaeger these days though. Its just an occasional glass of wine or beer for me now.

Jaegermeister is gross. The Native Americans have a saying "You do not drink from the bottle, the bottle drinks from you". Having said that, the bottle has been drinking from me since the 8th grade.
