Keller Williams and WMD's Tour

KELLER WILLIAMS AND THE WMD'S EMBARK ON EAST COAST FALL TOUR
FEATURING KELLER, KEITH MOSELEY, GIBB DROLL AND JEFF SIPE

Keller Williams
Keller Williams has been called guitar's mad-scientist, a one-man-band for the new millennium and dozens of other clever sobriquets dreamed up by fans and music journalists trying to get a handle on his uplifting and ever-shifting style of music. Williams is considered by some but not by himself, to be a master of the acoustic guitar, known for his ability to solo over layers of spontaneously created loops. He is a generous performer who plays down to earth acoustic music that defies any effort to find a convenient pigeonhole. Keller Williams' new album DREAM, which features a DREAM team of guest musicians, has inspired the usually one-man-band to hit the road with, you guessed it, a DREAM live band.

Keller Williams and The WMD's features Keith Moseley on bass (The String Cheese Incident), Gibb Droll on guitar (Marc Broussard), and Jeff Sipe on drums (Aquarium Rescue Unit, Trey Anastasio, Susan Tedeschi, Phil Lesh). The WMD's debuted at select festival performances this past summer, including an epic and electrifying Bonnaroo show. The WMD's will headline indoor venues this fall.

The complete list of WMD's confirmed tour dates is as follows:
11.02 Ram's Head Live | Baltimore, MD
11.03 Norva | Norfolk, VA
11.04 9:30 Club | Washington, DC
11.06 Neighborhood Theatre | Charlotte, NC
11.07 New Daisy Theater | Memphis, TN
11.08 Bijou | Knoxville, TN
11.09 Music Farm | Charleston, SC
11.10 Talleyrand | Jacksonville, FL
11.13 House of Blues | Orlando, FL
11.14 Revolution | Ft. Lauderdale, FL
11.15 Soul Kitchen | Mobile, AL
11.16 Georgia Theatre | Athens, GA
11.17 Alabama Theater | Birmingham, AL
11.18 Lincoln Theatre | Raleigh, NC

Before The WMD's hit the road, Keller will bring his solo show to Japan this October for the first time since his Fuji Rock Festival debut in 2004. He'll stop in Nagoya, Osaka and Kanazawa for the first time, before wrapping up the tour in Tokyo.

ive been wanting him to tour as part of a band,

im so glad to see this happening, im sure these are just starter dates, this tour will probably cover more ground, and for all of u folks who have grown bored with the solo show, its time to rediscover the greatest real estate musician, keller williams

As ussual, the headie bands avoid massachusettes and the new england area... Not everyone who lives around here is a moron metal head or mindless gangstah rapper. Dont forget where phish came from folx!!

Freakin Athens! There are more people in ATL! What the hell, Keller?!?! Keith...I'm disappointed. I went all the way to Colorado to see you and you can't even come to Atlanta. You might as well have played in Statesboro.

Never any Midwest love, Lvcheese. Saw these guys at Summer camp as well. I have to admit this is much more of my bag than Keller solo. When Keller plays with a band he's much more enjoyable in my opinion. The last Keller solo show I attended had me yawning and leaving at set break. The dude is way talented, and I hope he continues down this path.

hmm i could do without the wmd's in midwest. saw em at summercamp not impressed at all. no crunchy jams, pretty basic stuff. it was their first show together hoping they can redeem themselves when they stop by the midwest later on.

Yea they play alot of covers, some keller songs, and I think some songs they even wrote. I saw them this summer at the Roo'. I thought it was a good show. Obiouvsly this isn't tourable, but you should catch him if he comes to your town for sure. No midwest though!! Where is the Love for Chicago? They do cover alot of Grateful Dead, at least one Dead tune by shows from what I've seen.

I wish they would do the Birchmere over the 9:30 Club. Probably pass on this show just because of the venue.

They came to Brown's Island in Richmond and played for free I really enjoyed it. Keller played an hour long solo set to open up then the WMDS played for like an an hour and half. I'll defintley be going to the Norva.

Nothing better than Keller in VA

I saw a comment about the no headie bands go to the northeast? Thats pretty funny, cause as far as i know they get a ton of shows and the good thing is they will play new york, boston then either in new hampshire or vt and alot of times providence. So you can see 3-4 shows in a row and not do too much driving. All the good bands go to the north east a few times a year. The west coast gets no love and deserving so as the north east has more passionate fans and just more fans in general.

first off, athens is way cooler then atlanta. it also looks like he's playing small clubs anyway, that's alright. catch'em in the small clubs before they blow up, no pun intended. i've never seen keller live, but love most of his albums. his new one is really good. i also downloaded the bonnarroo set off archive and i thought it was pretty decent. that was supposedly the first show the WMD played live right? i would have to say that it would be tourable, much more then keller solo. i'm sure he mixes it up every night, right? i think this band has great potential and i hope he sticks with a band. he is talented solo, don't get me wrong, but you need a band if you really want to rock the house. i'm not understanding the negative vibes at this time, give'em a chance at least. i always liked keller better then anyone else in string cheese, i could never understand why they didn't put him on lead vocals, rather then that flat nasaly sound they've had instead. that's just my $.02.

No, Athens is not cooler than Atlanta. They both suck, but at least there are more phans of KW and the boys in ATL. And from reading your ".02" about Cheese you are not very cool yourself. Flat and nasaly? Have you even seen SCI? I love Keller, but his live shows were getting pretty repetative. At least the Cheese can mix it up.

Not to nit pick,... I've mentioned this before to Kdub's web folks, but WMD'S... It should not be possessive. It does not belong to the Weapon of Mass Destruction as the apostrophe 's' implies. It is not the Weapon of Mass DEstruction's band. It should be WMDs. Even though the 's' is after the D, it can still denote Weapons. Alright, its a slow day at work.... sorry.
